About Me

New Readership Survey for Spare Change and Whats Up:

Whats Up is a non-profit magazine written by volunteers and distributed by street vendors who are in need of alternative employment. We replace those tired papers you pick up full of condensed stories and lists of trends. Whats Up focuses on bringing arts and social awareness news to the streets of Boston, and anywhere else you want to take us. Feel good about what you read and those you help support. Join up!**As of November 2007 Whats Up has merged with Spare Change News, Boston's other street paper. Our Autumn 2007 issue was the last issue of Whats Up as a stand-alone. As of Feb 28, 2008 we've begun publishing as an insert within Spare Change, bringing the arts and humor to hold hands with their local poverty and homelessness coverage.**

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Writers, vendors, partiers, advertisers, musicians, artists, editors, donors, volunteers of all kinds (we need business-side and fundraising help in addition to writers), friends. Bands and artists, wanna do a show as a benefit for us? We are down. Everyone, please drop by our office, 1151 Mass Ave in Harvard Square, any Wednesday at 6:30pm for our volunteer meetings, or if you can't make it, be in touch about how to get involved: [email protected], 617-497-1595. Long-distance submissions welcomed. To join our weekly mailing list about story ideas, volunteer opportunities and events, send mail to [email protected].
