Sounds Like: Who we are: Mass Industry Committee (M.I.C.), is an organization on its way to becoming one of the largest, most successful talent organizations, representing urban talent throughout New England. As of March 1, 2004, we have over 360 supporters ranging from executives to street team affiliates. Our Executive Board consists of five individuals, all of whom have extensive knowledge in the entertainment industry and in corporate business, allowing us to take a professional and organized approach in all our endeavors. Our Mission: M.I.C.’s mission is to create a larger market for urban music in the New England area by developing a network of support for independent businesses and independent artists. We provide assistance and direction for urban music related talent and their companies. The M.I.C. not only wants to build a positive urban music community, but a positive, well-informed community. What we do: M.I.C. is designed to enlighten and provide professional resources and support for our sponsors and the general public through seminars, special guest workshops and events that support New England’s urban music communities. In addition, we provide local and regional support for organizations battling issues such as encouraging voter registration, mentoring programs, fighting teen illiteracy and violence amongst our youth.M.I.C. sets out to develop, educate, and assist artists and clientele with every aspect of the music industry. We represent talent ranging from music production, hip hop artists, vocalists, dancers, spoken word, and child talent. Within our network of local and national management companies, our talent searches, our magazines and record labels, we scout and develop new artists each year.M.I.C. strives to aid artists in gaining exposure by securing fashion campaigns, endorsements, marketing, and other opportunities that will virtually guarantee success for our artists as well as the sponsoring clients. We have the largest street team in New England to promote shows at various night clubs and events for artists to showcase their talents and we encourage all affiliates of the M.I.C. to show their support for their fellow associates. This and successful marketing keeps M.I.C. on top of an ever-changing Hip-Hop culture.June 2007Hello,The Mass Industry Committee is requesting your support in efforts to produce the, “2 Annual M.I.C. Hip Hop Awardsâ€. With all of the negative publicity that has faced the Hip Hop community in the past few months, we felt it necessary to shed a positive light on those who work hard at keeping hip hop alive. Presently, we are in the advance stages of this much needed award show and have scheduled it to take place on August 5th , at the Back Bay Event Center. Our goal through this award show is to lift the moral of Boston’s Hip Hop community, promote non-violence in hip hop and recognize those artists that have made major contributions to the Boston music scene. The Mass Industry Committee is a small for-profit company founded in 2003 by five native Bostonians; Dana Bradley, Lyrical and Irv Alcindor. Lyv Bien-Aimé, and Hector Solano another officer of the M.I.C., is putting together a compilation album featuring our artists most compelling and/or spiritually uplifting work. All founding members are Boston professionals and strong advocates of “Save the Music†as it relates to Hip Hop. The underlying mission of the Mass Industry Committee is to promote Boston’s Hip Hop scene in a positive light, provide exposure for Hip Hop artists, and unify Boston’s Hip Hop community. To this end, we have worked with non-profit groups such as Critical Breakdown of the Boston Youth Net, Project Think Different, Project
Friendship (Martha Eliot Health Center ), sponsored basketball teams in inner-city neighborhoods and our members have taught classes in area youth centers. On our website www.The617.com we hold forums that allow artists to familiarize themselves with each other and share information on the Hip Hop scene.
