BayHolla previously known as “Relly Relâ€, was brought up in the Roxbury part of Boston, known then as Orchard Park Housing Project, renamed as Orchard Park Garden Estates. Bay experienced most adversities associated with growing up in the project environments as a child. Violent surroundings and limited, positive, available outlets for children made it difficult for any youth to avoid dangerous temptations when faced with little to no other option. As Bay made the choice to take ownership of the hand dealt she embodied a 'grow up quick' mentality and way of life. Bay sought out her inner talents and at age nine, she began writing and performing at local parties. Little did she know that at this tender age the twist and turns her journey would soon unfold would eventually lead her to become one of the next hottest female artists.
From the get go, music was and remains Bay’s passion. In 1997 Michael Bivens from BIV 10 Records brought her into the industry as the first female rapper, ranking Boston's top ten. The drive and ambition that continues to motivate and inspire Bay has transformed not only her craft but her way of life. The "Bayholla Movement" is more than just an artist, it's a worldwide calling card, continuing to grow, alerting the globe that Bay is MUCH MORE than just an artist, rather she is here to assemble and provoke others who share her passion and she has the strength and essence to do it. Bayholla is currently working on her personal project under Frontline Management, as well as collaborating with known hip hop connoisseurs such as Billy Danze from M.O.P's g-Unit group, Big Shug, DJ Premiere and more.
As her profession progresses, her work continues with various local underground artists and producers such as Triple Threat, J-Hunt, Mann Terror, T. Cartel, Tru-L and Section8, to name a few. 2008 has also welcome Jules Renae, aka J a representative of JewelsE Inc., as a new member of the Movement. J has taken on an assistant role that has transitioned into an agent position seamlessly. The duo have hopes of becoming the next big team in Boston, representing two powerful, determined and talented ladies do'n what they love, and making it look dam good while they do it!
Bay’s hip hop resume continues to flourish through her ability to perform live and often at many local venues such as: The Crypt Night Club, The MilkyWay, Mc'Ganns's Pub and Paradise Lounge. Bayholla was also chosen to be a participant on the Women's Hip Hop panel at Berkelee/ ACT Roxbury Hip Hop Empowerment Summit in 2007. In addition to being featured on the Grindahz.com website as the Massachusetts rap representative Bayholla is the first artist from Boston to take it to be featured in the 1New Jersey Magazine itself, Grindahz.
2008 is most definitely a very exciting time for the Bayholla Movement; looking back at her nine year old counterpart from years ago she is even more excited and enthusiastic now to keep her journey alive and moving forward in full force. Get ready Boston, WE UP NEXT!
