Durdie Furby a.k.a. Gremlyn a.k.a. Chocolificent

About Me

Gremlyn started writing rhymes & learning how to FREESTYLE at the age of 12 (1998). He started off with a group called B.C.B. which stood for Bucky, Chocolate & Blu. Chocolate was his old Jr. High nickname. He them moved on with the name BoogyMan but found more meaning with the name Gremlyn. He joined another group called New B-ian Godz. Blu changed his name to Eklipse & the addition to this group was Shocase whom then changed his name to Syko Soulja. New B-ian Godz formed into 54th Regiment. Named after the first all black regiment to fight in the Civil War! Unfortunatly, the group wrote tons of bangaz but didn't get chances to record them. Syko moved to Florida so the group split up. By 2002 he built relationships with 1 of NewB's finest HIP HOP groups Busted Fro & worked with a local hip hop org. called 3rd EyE Unlimited building the skills to edit video footage and planning events. In Feb. 2004 he dropped his first 8 song E.P. entitled "The PreEmptive Attack" (Where's Gizmo?!?!?) During the recording of this CD, he bumped into the talented man whom at the time called himself Dirty McNasty who is now called Pontius. They formed the stunning and energetic group called S.R.H.M. which stands for (Society of Rightous & Harmonious Mics) as well as several other acronyms! The combination of these two men, 1 from the PJ's of NewB & 1 from the boondocks of Tauton Ma. proves that different worlds can collide and make something spectacular threw the same outlet, (HIP HOP!) That is what the Society represents! 2005 he released "The Rusty Hatchet Packet Mixtape-Batch1" which had 24 tracks with appearences from Busted Fro members Ice-Man, Tem Blessed, Bova, R-teest, Pontius & many other New Bedford talent. Unfortunatly, the duo S.R.H.M. was too good to be true. After recording & writing enough to release a group E.P. Pontius decided that rhyming wasn't his thing. So the group is no more. Like Grem says "You gotta K.I.M." (Keep It Movin) He goes on to join forces with Jo-L The R-Teest & roll with Audio Art Multimedia releasing "Rusty Hatchet Packet Batch 2" in 2007. The CD had colabo'z from Mikey Lyfe of Abstract Ent., DJ Kid Nyce, HiLoe Da Wizid, Belief, Busted Fro & others. Durdie Furby continues to try & be the sore thumb in the powerful fist raised high in the sky. Still a free agent, his old experiences & off the wall concepts for songs keeps him appealing to viewers, and surprising his fans everytime he grabs the mic. "His metamorphesis is starting, take cover!!!!!"Oh yeah...About MMMEEEEE!!!!! I obviously love music. Its my theropy. I'm very open when it comes to hearing other opinions. I'm liberal, outgoing and caring. I belive in the power of lyrics, and strive to perfect my craft. HIP HOP is my ultimate culture right next to Creole (Cape Verdean! Google it!) I can't stand the fact that this country blinds the truth from everybody & makes them feel bad if they have a diferent mind state. I wish I can unplug everyone from the Matrix but that'll defeat the perpose of saying "think for yourself!" Plus, change is inevidable. Why stress myself out, right? Another one of my passions are INTELLIGENT WOMEN! I need a GODDESS, she don't have to be flawless but as long as she can hold me down regardless what we go threw then we cool. No ones perfect, but as long as she thinks, & moves on her own, we'll be straight!
Its a blessing for me to be living with my beautiful cuzin Emerald in North Providence at this time in my life so I'm making sure I do my shit RIGHT!!!
P.S.
Be on the lookout for the new CD "Durdie Furby - Party Anymul" Coming Spring of 2008!
