I'm from a place where violence is KING. A place where prostitution pimpin drugs and extortion are a way of life. A place where dreams are silenced by the sounds of mothers crying at the funerals of their own children. Colors sets gangs clicks are represented in every part of town. Unsolved murders are a reminder of violence past. Backstabbers snitches jealous fools and thieves are among your best friends. Where am I from?

It's a city barely big enough to be called a city. Most of the people who get educated get out! Some of us stay. I'm not sure why we do but we do. It feels like their is a magnetism or a dark cloud that pulls you in and gets you caught up in everyday life. Before you know it you have had kids and your kids have had kids and you have spent your whole life wondering what if?
