So I've been off for the past 4 days....and for the last 2 days, I sat and talked to this older gentlemen that lives next to where I'm staying in NJ. He's retired....and a really nice guy...he's an environmentalist and good hearted man...he was a liberal, when he was my age...so he says..but now, he makes himself out to be a conservative republican..so we talked a bit...he has children from Israel visiting for the next 3 days..he talked about the conflict and his take on it..I listened...understood why the hatred for the other side exists...

I understand both sides...and I feel for both...he's a good man...

I told him how I felt about the Palestinian conflict....and how I felt about the Iraq war..

He didn't agree with me...he said that the only way to rid this world of terrorist is to kill them off...once and for all...

I didn't agree with him....you can't just kill off that type of hatred from either side...if you try to kill it off, you just fuel the hatred more and more, and the hatred continues..into a vicious cycle of war and destruction...haven't you learned that yet...haven't we learned that yet...maybe I'm just stupid...probably..I just don't understand...

So he tried to make me understand...but I still did not..

Yeah, maybe thats why I don't understand...

Hatred breeds hatred. Love...compassion and understanding breeds the same..yes, it is that simple...at least my simple mind thinks so...

War is not the answer..you can't kill off terrorism..or terrorist...you can make children understand that compassion, sharing and understanding will be the only way to rid ourselves of hatred and war...and maybe..eventually..it will go away...no need for it anymore...

And yes, that can be done...and yes, children can change it and the hatred bred by these old men, into their children, can go away...if they go away...

These leaders profit, as the people suffer, and no one wins in the end...

so..I think he understood what I was trying to say....but he called be a bleeding heart liberal in the end and he remembered a time when he was one too...but then, at one point, he changed..because he thought he had been wrong all those years...wrong about being compassionate...wrong about...??

"ok, call me whatever you want, just teach that to your children and soon, no more problems..." I said..."see that easy..hahahaha"

"But the Koran teaches hatred!!"..he said..."How can you change that?"

"No, the people that interpret it for their own selfish interest..to be used to breed hatred and war so they stay in power...teach it..."..I said..

Integrate..teach...and as the OLD WAR MONGRELS die OFF..

maybe we'll all find the PEACE, that we are all SEARCHING FOR....

One Heart....One Love...One Mind...

or not...maybe I just don't understand why the conflict has to still exist..

maybe it's better if I don't..

maybe it would be better if your children didn't understand either...maybe..

then maybe...they wouldn't have any reasons left to hate...on either side..

maybe..or I'm just wrong and don't understand...

so continue hating and continue killing and then maybe one day, we'll all be dead...

or stop..and maybe one day, we will all live...
