About Me

I'm a double bass player based in Vancouver, BC, currently working on my B.Mus in Capilano College's Jazz Program. I'm originally from northern Vancouver Island. I love everything there is about music and performance, and I can be found playing all kinds of music in and around the Vancouver area, from jazz to classical to pop to folk to musical theatre and everything in between. I am also passionate about travelling, experiencing different cultures, and languages. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

MUSIC. Double basses. Performing. Traveling. Different cultures, different languages, different people, different places. Deep sea fish. Bugs. Birds. My awesome family. Good friends. Good food. Good food and good friends at the same time. Literature, especially classics and poetry. Art. Films.

I'd like to meet:

Musicians and people all over the world!

Music:

I'm a big fan of any music as long as it's done with integrity.

Movies:

The Red Violin, To Sir With Love, The Silence of the Lambs, Fargo, A Mighty Wind

Television:

I really don't watch TV.

Books:

I love anything by Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Edgar Allen Poe, that kind of thing. "Clockwork" by Philip Pullman, and the "His Dark Materials" trilogy by him. I love the Harry Potter books!. "A New History of the Double Bass" by Paul Brun (amazing). "Life of Pi" by Yan Martel. "What Was I Scared Of?" by Dr Seuss. "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran. "Eunoia" by Christian Bok. And my old English Lit textbook which I still have and still love! (shh!)

Heroes:

Edgar Meyer, the Beatles, Oscar Pettiford, Ray Brown, Paul Chambers, Percy Heath, Sam Jones, Dave Holland, Christian McBride, Larry Grenadier, Stan Rogers, Bela Fleck and Des Pawson.
