** first a very important DISCLAIMER: I AM -NOT- IN TSO or affiliated in any way other than absolutely loving their music, THIS IS A FAN PAGE!!!**
okay then, WELCOME!
This page is my tribute to the one and only Trans-Siberian Orchestra, one of my absolute favorite bands!
They put on some of the best concerts you will ever see. If you haven't been to one of their shows, you SO should go this year...
I discovered TSO during a search for Christmas music a few years ago. I wanted to make really cool mix CDs for my friends and family of holiday music that was deviant from the norm (kind of like myself but I'll stay on topic right now LOL) and I found a song titled "Revenge Of The Sugar Plum Fairy". This appeared quite interesting to me and I listened to it, only to discover a blistering yet beautiful version of Tschaikovsky’s classic suite.
Having loved the melody (and classical music in general) since childhood - and then later acquiring a fervent passion for all things metallic and distorted - this wonderful music gave me happy chills. I was determined to find out more.
I think I Googled something along the lines of “metal Christmas music†and in the results there it was, a link to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra webpage. My first mission was accomplished: identification. Now I had to go buy the CDs. I believe I bought both Christmas Eve And Other Stories and The Christmas Attic at the same time. A relative gave me the Beethoven’s Last Night CD, and then a little later I got The Lost Christmas Eve too.
This was in late 2004. Amazingly, soon after my feverish buying spree, I was talking to a friend about the music and he said “I think they are playing a show at the Grove theatre [in Anaheim CA] soon,†so of course I got all excited. Back to the internet and Ticketmaster’s website, it turned out they were at the Arrowhead Pond. So after I got paid I hustled down to the nearest Ticketmaster actual window (cause we all know what kind of seats you get when you click ’best available’, LOL) and picked myself out a seat. It was terrace level but dead center, and that was fine with me. If I can’t be close please keep me in the middle! It was an absolutely amazing show and I was HOOKED.
My apologies for anyone who wanted to read my concert review. My life got really insane starting in December and I never wrote it up when the memory was still fresh in my mind. Suffice it to say that it was my third time, and better than the two before - the new members are incredible talents - my friends and family were blown away and my father in law actually has TSO listed in his favorite concerts ever!!! ;) But I still wanna see the Beethoven/Night Castle tour happen!!! And I do still plan to put CD reviews up, but I have NO idea when that will be.
I am honestly blown away by all the attention, friend requests and comments I have gotten here on this fan page - it is so true that TSO is one of the best bands EVER - and the fans - boy, are we dedicated or what?! LONG LIVE THE TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA!!!
I will post bulletins if anything is added here...
