i like time life music compilations (and watching their infomercials), film festivals, bookstores (especially independent ones and used ones), coffee and dessert, specialty shops of all kinds, theme and costume parties, outdoor recreation and sporting goods, conferences and conventions of all kinds, gathering places and green spaces, and lots of other stuff.
among many, many things, i am an activist, an artist, and a professional do-gooder. a peace bringer. just me. being real human.

i've spent the past few years of my life intensely focused on getting free. getting unstuck. like pema chödrön would say, interrupting life-negating habitual patterns and encountering naked reality. my efforts to recover emotional intelligence have certainly been successful. i am free! i can dance and sing again. i can come fully forward with my gifts and magnificence (and not get intimidated by my own brilliance and human potential). i can celebrate life! i feel like i've shed a skin or protective shell. the bedouin ancestors say that the truth may walk through the world unarmed...

i'm a champ because i'm brave enough to be vulnerable, courageous enough to face the shadows in my experience, and crazy (again, meaning courage) enough to wade in the muck, digging for the wisdom rooted in my own experience, and of course, the lotus flower that blooms from that place.
i'm starting to feel like a "grizzly adams" in the world of unchartered territory. who knew you needed wilderness skills to leave the beaten path and make something different happen for yourself? i love the new volkswagen ad: "WOE ISN'T YOU. DARE TO BE HAPPY"

right now, my saturn return is in full effect. yowzers! so yeah, no more hiding, minimizing, and colluding with my own destruction. my mental shortlist of daily commitments reads: 1. do not kill self (figuratively and/or literally) 2. embrace the hope/fear paradox around your life dream 3. take the path that has heart 4. you are safe and all is well 5. make sure to remember what is good, true, and beautiful about yourself so that you won't be tempted to break commitment #1

big thinker. oftentimes, an overthinker. tree hugger. action figure. world healer. juicy lover. peace queen. i live a charmed life and i know i'm a sparkler.
i've learned to meet the winds of change with gratitude rather than resentment. change isn't particularly cozy for me, but i've learned to cherish what i discover from the experience...so i can calm down and go with it. what i learn from the most challenging and uncomfortable lessons usually ends up being my golden ticket for some future experience, or revisiting some challenge from my past. wooopeee!! right?
