The Standard Music Venue
Sadly our beloved resident DJ Martin Ball has passed away. He died suddenly on Thursday 24th July. He will be greatly missed, not only by our family and staff, but manyt of the customers have known Martin for the last 20 years that he has been at the standard. His funeral will be held at the City of London Cemetary at 2.00pm on Wednesday 13 August. If any of you wish to attend, his family have expressed that you are all welcome. What a sneak peak of what is coming up? Well we have The Bon Jovi Experience, The U2's and Legend, just to mention a few, watch out for the dates and make sure you put them in your diaries. THere are loads more to be announced to keep checking and make sure you turn up!Here's a run down of what's coming up over the next few weeks.
Fri 25th July- sup It is the start of the fantastic Band Comp. Hope you have all entered and are ready to rock!
Sat 23rd August- sup Dirty DC. THe AC/DC Tribute are back and they are celebrating their 10th Anniversary of playing The Standard in Walthamstow. It is gonna be a great party, so come along and have some fun.
Sat 6th September- sup Legend. LEGEND are eight great musicians and singers dedicated to the life and music of the late, great Bob Marley
Fri 12th September- sup Bon Jovi Experience. The Bon Jovi Experience are the worlds first and finest tribute to the great Bon Jovi. They will be supported by Everest.
Sat 13th September- sup Whole Lotta Led. Whole Lotta Led are a tribute band in the truest sense of the word. Whole Lotta Led are a sound-a-like as opposed to a look-a-like tribute band. They believe that the music comes first and wearing wigs and costumes can distract from what they are trying to achieve - which is to play some of the best music ever written.

Sat 13th September- sup The U2s. I think the name says it for itself. A fantastic tribute to those Irish lads.
Fri 26th September- sup Stray. For a band who've never been away, STRAY have made a spectacular comeback!!
Sat 27th September- sup The Secret Police. They are the world’s longest running and most respected Police tribute band, together since 1996.
