The Banshee

irony is noise

About Me

The story began in the classic way, when the guys were still at high school and used to spend their free time rehearsing. A few years later, with growing self-consciousness, confidence, and unwavering enthusiasm, The Banshee play the kind of music connected with the frenzy, the excitement and the light humour of "twenty-somethings".They discovered the Jam, early Supergrass, the Smiths, the Buzzcocks...They are not afraid to write songs with hooks and great choruses, songs that can stir sing-alongs at gigs - or simply a happy melody under the shower the next day. The Banshee strongly believe that a band has a duty to communicate, to entertain, to make people happy with the way they have spent their night at a venue. It's all about guitars, silly voices, some cute phrases about girls, parties and city life. Garage-punk, oh yes, but with lots of irony and fun, and with a stylish attitude (definitely, they love Pulp more than the Sex Pistols!).Salient points of the last 12 months are: an enthusiast quote in the NME Breaking Bands column, a succesful UK tour, more than 40 frantic gigs around Italy, a videoclip in heavy rotation on MTV Brand: New and Rock TV, national radio airplay, features and interviews on major magazines, the opening at Heineken Jamming Festival. Not to forget the release of a debut album - "Public Talks" - that's restless as a young cat and sticky as chewing gum. R'n'R style and UK post punk, glam and pop tunes. But for The Banshee it is never time to slow down. Another video clip will be ready in the autumn, a new album release is scheduled in 2008, and "Public Talks" will be out in the UK and Canada in November via Fading Ways Music / Cargo Records, with a second UK tour following shortly. real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools
