About Me

Hailing from the southern naval town of Portsmouth, The Model Village are ahead of their game. Fuelled with a healthy passion for truth, poetry and Rock & Roll, TMV can make a believer out of even the most elitist music listener. Fads, fashions and genres hold no place in TMVs heart and even though the sounds they make might not be something you've never heard before, TMV guarantee they'll be something you'll want to hear for years to come.

Timeout London
"With influences ranging from Billy Bragg to Future Sound Of London, you can expect a strange mix of social poetry and urban atmospherics from Portsmouth's The Model Village, who are most often compared to Blur"
Madhouse Media
"We could listen to these guys all day, the seven tracks on their myspace page simply isn't enough. With catchy tunes and catchier vocals TMV live up to their guarantee and quench our thirst with some instantly addictive sounds"
Paul Coogan - Phoenix FM
“With the swagger of Ian Brown, the groove of Happy Mondays, crunching riffs to rival Noel Gallagher’s finest and a dash of Blur-esque quirkiness, Portsmouth’s ‘The Model Village’ are set for big things.”
Bugbear
"On the one hand embracing Parklife era Blur …but buried under loads of fuzz and ultra distorted vox. Heading towards the psychedelic, but via 80's analogue sample-ology."
The News
"Portsmouth has needed something like this for years"
Download.com
"Tight, sharp and sporting a heavy dose of classic Brit-pop melody, they have the same soulful stuff the best of the '80s mod revivalists had. Yet the MVs are a totally contemporary--as in modern--band"

Sounds Like:

TMV are a heady amalgamation of guitar-heavy Funk, Indie Rock and Blues-tinged Chord-play. Images of The Jam or Sex Pistols are not far from the somehow familiar feel of The Model Village, yet their unique take on political word-play, anger-fuelled passion for Barebones drumming and catchy riffs will leave you instantly addicted.
TMV are a good, honest slap about the face with the Leather Glove of Reality! Getting up or getting down is the name of the game. Listen, enjoy, dance, sing along, ingest and ponder. Love us or love to hate us. We are YOUR band.
