The REALISTS

About Me

The REALISTS debut was in June of 2008 after only being together for literally a few weeks. Lead guitarist, Tim and Vocalist/guitarist Webby had spent two years locked away turning a hobbie into something so much more. Not content on doing covers and joined in their passion for song writing they began to write there own material, and with influences ranging from the Kings of Leon to Oasis to the Kinks to Jimi Hendrix, the songs came thick and fast and with the new found services of Dan Evans (after a chance messy meeting with Webby on a coach trip to London) on drums and Jack May on bass the rock and roll pop punk sound was found and The REALISTS were born. The four lads have since snowballed onto the Portsmouth music scene and after only a few local gigs were asked to support the likes of The Young Knives, The Official Secrets Act and more recently the Perils. They made their Wedgewood Rooms debut after only 6 months together supporting The Paddingtons. Then came the lads first trip to the capital where they played the Camden Barfly which was closely followed by the legendary Hope and Anchor in Islington. Before taking a short winter break to get new material written the lads ventured north to play The Cavern in Liverpool which was a highlight of the year. Now with new songs and an ever growing army of fans the Realists are back for 2010 so make sure you get along and see them, you wont be dissapointed... .....
