Known as one of Miami's most popular Rock en Español bands, Tango36 is Rock & Roll which happens to be sung in Spanish. They are the combination of various musical styles brought in by its members' diverse musical, cultural and educational backgrounds. Joined together, you have a formula for Rock & Roll that transcends any language. This is evident in their fans -it is not uncommon to find non-Spanish speakers at their live performances- as well as the bands they have been invited to play along side of, Three Doors Down and Godsmack, for example, with whom they shared a stage at Zetas Banzai Festival.
Tango36 has also performed with Grammy winners and international acts such as Aterciopelados, Bacilos, Cabas, Los Rabanes, La Secta All Star, Volumen Cero, Los de Adentro, and Jorge Correa, just to name a few. They have been featured in internationally-televised programs like Mun2's The Roof, PlanetaRock, Vidavision's Rock Total and Telemundo's Primera Edicion. They were voted the Best Latin Rock Band by the readers of the Miami New Times in its 2004 Best of Miami publication, with lead singer Jorge Delgado also chosen as the Best Male Rock Vocalist.
Gaining international recognition and steadily amassing a remarkable following, their website tango36.com, elhood.com/tango36, as well as this myspace page enable fans all over the world to hear their music and keep current with the band's upcoming performances and news.
TANGO36 SIGNED TO CIRCO RECORDS/SONY-BMG & THEIR DEBUT ALBUM "CAMINO AL SOL" WAS RELEASED NOVEMBER 2006!
Although influences are diverse and many (U2, Led Zeppelin, Soda Stereo, The Police, The Smiths, Stone Temple Pilots, Fobia, Dave Mathews Band, La Ley, among others), and the lineage of Tango36 can be found in the Anglo rock of the late 70s, 80s and 90s, their melodies and lyrics are true to the band's Hispanic heritage. The term 'Rock Alterlatino' was recently coined to refer to alternative rock bands whose songs are written in Spanish. To pigeonhole this band into that category seems unfair. Their sound is bigger, richer, better. It is the culmination of five talented musicians and everything that has brought them together. It is Rock & Roll to its core.
