Marcs passion for Electronic Dance Music began in the late 90s, influenced by the likes of Paul Van Dyk and Mauro Picotto. It wasn’t until 2000 when he heard Ralph Lawson and Paul Woolford at Back to Basics in Leeds that his musical preference began its slant towards Deep and Funky Tech House. This passion became so great that the next obvious step for Marc was to buy some Decks and begin learning the skills that were to shape the Marc Jay that we know today.Marcs first DJ break came when he was spotted by Freakin’ head honcho Rich Clark who supported the young talent by giving him regular warm up slots to which gained huge acclaim and a fast developing fan base. It wasn’t long before Freakin’ gave Marc a headline set that put him in demand across Yorkshire and gained him guest mixes on radio shows up and down the country. It was through a guest mix on The Duotech show on Freakin’ radio that Marc met ‘The Acid Lemon Juice’. These were DJs Luis Tavares and Derek Cutler. They hosted ’The Phantom Power Show’ on London’s S.S Radio and on hearing the mix asked if Marc would appear as a guest for their final show before they leave to start up 32bit Records.Marc signed to London based label 32bit records in 2006 and has secured 2 releases with them, his debut release being ’Strutt’ and his second release ’See the G’.
2007 also saw Marc Sign to brand new Puerto Rican label JER Recordings to which his track ’Drum Affair’ was released along with his remix of label owner John Ender Rios’s ‘’Time of Reign’.Shortly after signing to JER Recordings Marc signed to Solar Storm records with his tracks ‘Audio Porno’, and ‘The Gate Girl’ .A chance meeting on a night out in Leeds brought Marc and Leigh (one half of Cosmic Groove Transmission) together. After a lot of Demo, mix tape swapping and remix sharing the collaboration brought Marc and 3am recordings/Audiotonic boss Al Bradley together. This secured another outlet for Marcs Original tracks and remix work.Marcs original productions have since given Holland based label ’Phat Beat Records’ and London based Label ’Physical Gravitty Recordings’ cause to ask for remix work to which Marcs take on future releases will be available.Marc is now credited with DJ sets alongside Chris Duckenfield, Jimpster, Milton Jackson, The Littlemen, Bionic Bump Band, Cosmic Groove Transmission, Tim Wright, Vector Lovers and gigs at venues like Bugged Out! @ Sankeys in Manchester and MyHouse in Leeds. His love and passion for all things House shine through whether it’s from behind the Decks or in the studio. For More Info and DJ Bookings contact
