OK, I’m Adam Argyle. I write songs, produce the odd thing but most passionately, I’m a singer. I signed a publishing deal with Nashville based Acuff Rose when I was 16 after I recorded a self funded country album. I was nominated for three British Country Music awards and won ‘Best Newcomer’. British country radio gave me ‘Best Album’ and my home county honoured me with a ‘Yorkshire Young Achiever’ award. Supporting Reba McEntire on her European tour, performing at the Grand Ole Opre and singing to a full house at the Royal Albert Hall are all fond memories from a past country music life.As I grew up, my musical taste grew with me, I can’t even start trying to put myself in a pigeon hole, I’ll leave that to those of you who feel it to be necessary. However, there’s elements of rock, folk, pop, country….. mainly, I get my kicks from the lyrics, a good lyric that says something in an original or at very least, interesting way.. haha.When it comes to writing, as well as my own stuff, I started writing for other projects when I signed to Peer Music Publishing about four years ago. Melanie C released ‘Next Best Superstar’ in 05 and I co-wrote six songs on her current album, ‘This Time’, one of which I was asked to sing on, the duet, ‘Don’t Let Me Go’. I co-wrote two of the songs, ‘Uncomfortably Slow’ and ‘People Should Smile More’ on the Newton Faulkner album, ‘Hand Built By Robots’ and I co-wrote four songs and produced the self titled acoustic album for Jill Jackson, some of my proudest work.Although I’m still really enjoying writing for other artists, at the moment I’m working mainly on my own album after I singed a contract last November with Geffin Record in LA. This has brought up a lot of opportunities to work with some fantastically talented people across the board, writers, producers, musicians etc.. and with everyone bringing something new, the immediate future is a very exciting one for me.I hope you like the tunes…….
