About Me

What is Liquid?
Liquid is a style of dance that was created in the Rave scene. It consists of frequent floor slides, finger, hand, arm and knee waves, in which the dancer attempts to weight shift in the smoothest of fashions. Though Liquid sometimes looks similar to or is mistaken for Snaking, my style and experience of this movement originated not in Breaking, but through my 5 years of Circus training with a Russian coach named Ganadhi, and time spent in my teens experimenting on the dance floor at raves. In more recent years my version of Liquid has been influenced by explorations and training in Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz, Breaking, House, Reggae, Indian, Latin and African styles of movement.
I am also grateful for another major influence and inspiration to me and my Liquid skills: his name was Jesse Daniels, but we all knew him as Jesse Bones.. he was the most incredible Liquid dancer that I have EVER seen, and we shared our love for the style on many a dance floor in the mid 90's. Jesse is no longer with us in physical form, but his memory lives on in my movement.
I have been practicing and working, or more so, "playing" to refine my technique for 15 years; and for about 12 years I have had the pleasure of being able to share my version of this dance style through private classes, workshops and performances around the world in Canada, the US, India, Sweden, Switzerland, South Korea, Hong Kong, France, Thailand and Australia.
In class I strive to create a fun, non-judgemental and encouraging environment, where students can expand their dance vocabulary, while gaining flexibility, coordination and muscle tone. If you are interested in bringing me to your studio, company or school for some classes, choreography or workshops, please feel free to send me a message. Looking forward to hearing from you...

the acrobat is my friend Soquete and the first solo dancer is Pania both from Australia... (unfortunately the microphone busted just before the show so we had to turn down the music and i tried to shout as loud as i could for the spoken word piece... but this place was packed like a sardine can so you might not really hear what i am saying... however those that know my work, will probably recognize the piece)...
the 4 gentlemen that i'm dancing with were only able to meet with me twice to learn and rehearse the piece... but i thought they did exceptional well...
below is an acoustic clip of me in Honolulu, Hawaii playing a new song i wrote while in Hong Kong... it was my last night on the road, after travelling around the world by myself for 9 months... from Toronto to England, Sweden, Switzerland, France, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, Hawaii and back to Toronto...
