Honey Jam is an all-female HYPE talent showcase produced by PhemPhat since 1995. It features Canadian based dj's and artists of varied cultural backgrounds representing all genres of music - hip hop, jazz, gospel, pop, dancehall, opera, blues, r&b, rock, country, dance, soca.The experience has been pivotal for many of the artists who perform, including Amalia Townsend of the Vancouver band Sekoya who wrote:"I was so inspired and amazed and still am to have been surrounded by such powerful women. Honey Jam was an experience I will never forget for the rest of my life. It has motivated me even more to get my voice heard. I shall be released! I met some beautiful, strong, brave women and I just can’t stop dreaming about everything over and over again.”The next Honey Jam showcase takes place August 16, 2009.
