I had a chirpy list of interests here for a while but it all started sounding like a high school yearbook. Yikes. The main thing is I love making people feel good and feel beautiful through photography. With so much hate and hurt in the world, I want to do what I can to help spread a little l-u-v, love.
I'm also obsessed with rock...listening to it, playing it (don't laugh!), and shooting it. It's white-hot joy to me, pristine and unassailable. I'm deeply inspired by all those iconic, live arena rock photos of the 70's...dark, dramatic, contrasty, grainy, gritty. Zeppelin, the Stones...you know the shots: all spotlights and cheekbones, shadows and swagger and smoked-out glamour, the shots that just suck you in with their larger-than-life passion, power and dangerous beauty. No squeaky clean antiseptic digital photos for this girl...I just want to let it bleed, baby. And dance little sister dance down the moonlight mile of my imagination...
...that is, of course, unless I trip over a loving cup of brown sugar like a torn and frayed beast of burden 2000 light years from home (sorry...couldn't resist!!).

Two outtakes: I shot Iggy at an in-store at Newbury Comics. He seemed to be experiencing some cognitive dissonance, having to be 'Iggy Pop' in a fluorescent-lit corner of a local record store with his drummer beating on upturned cardboard boxes. I shot Westerberg standing behind him and a fan on his tour bus.
