About Me

NOTICE TO BOOKING AGENTS AND TV PRODUCERS: The vocal performances on Danny Nova's "Crushing The Stone" CD, were recorded in one take while being filmed for TV, and in less than 50 minutes, with only 4 seconds in-between songs. Point in case, Danny's live concert performances are as dynamic or even more dynamic than what is heard on the studio recordings!

Hi! My name is Danny Nova. I personally read every friends request profile, so it might take a few days for me to review your profile before I can respond to you or add your profile. Thank You.
Moving onward, you may or may not know me or know of me, but I am an ethical Vegan promoting the Vegan lifestyle. It is a part of my mission, as well as teaming up with organizations that work to benefit the sick, the homeless, the mentally impaired, the oppressed, and the abused. Organizations that address all animal/civil rights issues are tops in my book.
Besides my personal mission, lets talk about the music. If you know me, then you know that I am a serious songwriter, play 10 instruments (Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums, Flute, Sax, Violin, Clarinet, Harmonica, Various Percussion) and sing my ass off. I regard myself as second to none because I don't compete with anyone, especially with any other artist.
I have been playing music since I was six years old. Back then, I didn't know about fame or fortune, nor do I care about those things now. I do what I do with music because it's what I have always loved to do. I have turned down many opportunities to reach commercial success for good reasons ... Meaning that, I didn't like what was being asked of me at that time. I was asked by music biz people to do unethical things that I don't want to reveal to the public at this time. So in other words, and putting it nicely, I walked away and laughed under my breath at their silly egos. Summing it up and not being a snob or anything, I don't sell out my music, my soul or whatever else I have that is worth buying, so to speak. I can't be bought and I am happy with that. If I don't feel a good vibe from a person (agent, manager, producer, engineer, press person, radio person, record company person, promoter, venue manager, club owner or other musician), I won't work or deal with them, I just politely walk away or avoid them and that's all there is to it.
Whew, sorry if that got a little heavy but I am known to be passionate and excitable from time to time about these things. Must be the Aquarian Sun, Scorpio Moon and Aries Mars in my Zodiac placements. So anyway, when you read my bio below, please remember this, I am as real as real gets. If I could be a friend to everyone who wanted me to be, I would be. In reality, it just isn't possible to do that face to face but it is through the music. So for now, the lyrics will tell you my story.

________________________________________
Danny Nova is a world-class vocalist whose music making abilities cannot be denied. As a songwriter, Danny is admired for his fine blending of lyrical content with melodic and flowing musical compositions. Peer songwriters consider his lyrical content as seasoned, poised, sensitive and profound, with a thin lining of obscurity.
With his 4 plus octave vocal range, hitting full voice E notes above high C, this raspy-voiced acoustic artist would turn the heads of many famed vocalists such as Steve Perry, Ian Gillian, Robert Plant, Rod Stewart, Joe Turner and Steven Tyler. In fact, Steven Tyler has attended at least 5 of Danny's NYC performances and Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss have attended half a dozen.
Recipient of a 2006 Talent in Motion Magazine "TIMMY AWARD" for "Singer Of The Year," Danny is also the recipient of three 2005 Honorable mentions from Billboard Magazine for his original compositions "Lay My Guns Down," which placed in the top 500 songs in the Billboard World Songwriting Contest, along with "Crystal Clear" and "Calamity Heart," placing in the top 1500. In addition, his original song "Lay My Guns Down" advanced to the third round of judging for the 2005 International Song Writing Competition.
In March 2006, Danny auditioned for the CBS series-"Rock Star Supernova.” Immediately following Danny's video taped performance, he was whisked away and interviewed by CBS reporters. Within two hours, his performance was being aired every hour over the next few days on CBS to promote "Rock Star Supernova.” The video of his performance can still be seen on CBS3.com. After careful consideration, Danny opted not to follow through with being a participant on the show.
In June of 2006, TV producer of Time/Warner CTV, approached Danny with the concept of starring in a new TV series called "Musical Poets In Motion." The shows concept is to seek qualified, undiscovered up-and-coming artists to capture their rise to national and international acclaim. Danny is captured performing in adventure-like settings such as a concert on a stage boat in the middle of Lake Hopatcong, NJ for 2500 spectators who were on 300 boats, a walking performance on the Seaside Heights, NJ boardwalk, a performance under the archway of NYC's Washington Sq. Park, and a performance at an entertainment industry's 4th of July party and fireworks.
On July 31, 2006, Danny finished an 11 song CD "Crushing The Stone," which was recorded at The Barbershop Studios, in Lake Hopatcong, NJ, by studio engineers Michael Ferretti, Jason Corsaro and assistant engineer Dante Portella. “Grammy Award” winner Tony Black completed a preliminary mix, engineer. All instrumentation was played by Danny accept for Cello which was played by Peter Lewy, and Keyboards which were played by Scott Triebitz.
In November 2006, Danny performed his first solo-headlining concert at the Baker Theater, along with Hall Of Fame Dave Mason (Traffic and Fleetwood Mac). The concert was filmed for reality TV show "Musical Poets In Motion" and for an up and coming DVD release.
In Feb 2007, Danny traveled to London to shoot footage for "Musical Poets In Motion" and for his latest song touted to be a London favorite entitle "London." Footage being shot at notable places such as Big Ben, Buckingham Place, The Tower Bridge, Abby Road Studios, Camden Town, The Beatles Store, etc., will prove to be entertaining, informative and much more.
In Sept 2007, Danny kicked off his fall tour. The tour dates encompassed major cities in New England, The Mid-West & North East Coast. The second leg of the tour, which is to encompass the Southern region, has been suspended till further notice due to complications with travel arrangements. The tour will soon commence in the Spring.

The following video feed, which airs on Time/Warner CTV in the coming weeks, was taped on Valentines Day at Time/Warner Studios in NYC. Special guests were me (LOL), The Matt Band, Dan Jouett from the Stone Pony, and more! We had a blast that night. The show runs about an hour long so watch it when you have time to sit back, kick up your feet, and have a snack & beverage next to ya. Hope you enjoy it!

NY Rocks TV, Rocks The Danny Nova Tour Bus - The following video was also shot on Valentines Day after we shot the NY Rocks TV show at Time/Warner CTV in NYC. When the studio producers reviewed it, they felt it was amusing and actually informative enough to make a partial show out of it. It was a reality taping and shot on the fly, showing the inside amenities of my personal tour bus. But the fun of it was when I was on the phone trying to direct my friend Michael Wehrhahn (great movie producer) to the studio. He was lost for over two hours and he missed the whole show!! Not the first time, he cracks me up, hehe. The video is around 29 minutes and will be aired on Time/Warner CTV in the near future.

The names listed below are of people who have played or developed music with me either as members, writers, producers, artists or studio cats. I want to thank all of them because each one of them had made a commitment to the music we were creating at that time and ultimately influenced me in some way. I am even going back to my first band ever, when I was in the 6th grade, LOL. If anyone who is reading this, feels that they have been left out or that I have misspelled your name, by all means let me know. It's hard to recall all the names off the top of my head.
