Madfish Willy, a five piece rock band, is based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The band was formed after a mutual friend introduced bass player Jeremy Bain and drummer Rob Livingston, to guitarist/ songwriter Scott Carter. After several weeks of getting together and playing, it was decided that a trip to the recording studio was in order.
Madfish Willys self-produced debut CD entitled "If you say so" was completed in the fall of 2002, and was nominated and voted as Best New Act or Artist in 2003 by Chattanoogas Independent Artists Association. The band recorded their first CD at Hope Studios in Chattanooga, Tennessee where Scott Carter was working as a free-lance engineer & producer.
The band returned to the studio in the fall of 2005 with Brian McCutchen at 'Audio Alchemy' studios to begin to record a 5 song Cd. The songs you hear on this webpage are from that project. Currently, Madfish Willy is in the studio recording 10 new songs and hopes to be finished in the late spring of 2008.
Madfish Willy has been able to share the stage with some well known artists such as Breaking Benjamin, Michelle Branch, Del Castillo, Ten Tons of Steel, Graham Parker and the Figs and has participated in several well-known festivals and benefits around the Southeast such as The Riverbend Festival, Nightfall Concert Series, The Chattanooga River Roast, The March of Dimes benefit, Chattanooga Cares AIDS Benefit, and other events and clubs in and around the Chattanooga / Nashville area.
We would like to thank everyone who supports Madfish Willy, and local musicians everywhere for the drive to continue to do what you love. We would also like to thank Tim Smartt for taking on the task of live sound engineer in some pretty crazy venue's. MFW would also like to send out a special shout to our good friends who shoot photo's and video's at our shows, press photo's and cd covers (Jeremy Reimer and Bill Wunderlich).
