Peaches has always been a performer. Her outgoing, confident and friendly character makes it easy for her to relate to peoplefrom all walks of life. Her life goals and aspirations have always been to become a successful, all roundEntertainer/Performer. Give her a mike and she becomes a promotional wizard, using her play on words to entice people to wantto know more, Peaches could sell water to a well! Peaches went to Colindale Primary School, where she experienced her firstacting production in the nativity plays and eventually hosted end of year showcases (aaahh how cute!) Peaches father was amusician and encouraged her to play the steel pans. Sometimes when the band would rehearse she would absorb the bandsinteraction and determination to progress as a band. She relished the fact that they would allow their individualpersonalities to come out through their music. At the age of 9 peaches performed in carnival as a dancer for 3 years with agroup called Ebony and was even blessed with the title of Queen of the Carnival once! Throughout her childhood Peaches wasvery energetic. At 11 years old she went to Copthall Girls School in Mill Hill where she wrote poetry and formulated it intorap. She developed a group that did not last for more than 3 weeks but gave her the confidence to continue to develop herrapping and singing skills. She also took part in a school show, which she performed at a youth club in Harrow Road(Avenues). Peaches used to sit in her friends house (the mans dem) and spit, which is where she built more confidenceallowing her to stand up to the men and prove her skills were just as good. We all know just how hard it is for female toprogress in a male dominated industry such as entertainment. Peaches knew she had real talent because of the amount ofencouragement she would get from her piers People would shower me with respect and keep encouraging me to really pursue thiscareer. At the age of 13 Peaches ran away from home as things were bad, which resulted in her being put into care for 2years. Due to her rebellious streak she got caught up in wrong crowds and started shop lifting and getting up to all sorts ofmischief. This has helped mould Peaches into the woman you see today, someone who uses music as a source of expression toescape and teach others to do the same. After her time in care Peaches went back home and at the age of 15 was pregnant withher daughter Sherena (who is now 12years old.) Her mother decided to encourage her talents and described her daughter as halfSaddam Hussein, half Charmer (How sweet). In August 1992 Peaches attended the BRITS Performing Arts school. This enabled herto harness her skills in a professional nature. From the age of 17 Peaches was living on her own, which along with herdaughter meant she had to mature at a young age. She begun performing in showcases in Chalk Hill at a youth club calledCoffers where she also became their entertaining host for shows. At 18 Peaches was working with a social worker calledDesmond Coke and set up a community radio station called Peoples Choice in Harlesden. The station was supported by HarlesdenCity Challenge. This became the turning point where Peaches built the passion in communicating with audiences whether liveshows over airwaves or live showcases. After the Peoples Choice radio Station Peaches did a 7-month stint on Unique Fm, whichshe enjoyed, as she felt like a young female really making an impact in a profession that is male dominated. Getting caughtup with road and all the excitement Peaches started to lose track of her activities and in 1998 a month before her 21stbirthday was sent to prison for 2 robberies (that she is not guilty for), fraud and deception (guilty). She served 2 years inprison and was released in 2000. In Peaches own words My time in prison was needed, as this was the turning point for me. Iwas allowed to find myself and strategize my goals and aspirations and how I was going to achieve them. Whilst in prison Ilearnt to master my time Peaches wrote a docu-drama called Prison me no way, which was filmed by the HMP prison service andwent on tour nation-wide. She also developed theatre productions in prison and performed them to the prison Governors andinmates and was awarded certificates. On release from prison Peaches went to Clean Break Theatre Company, where she was astudent and achieved two Access courses in Performing Arts and Community Theatre. She took part in various Fringe theatreproductions, Six Characters In Search of and Author by Luigi Pirandello, Shackles by Fifon King. This made it possible forher developed skills in Classical and Contemporary Theatre. Clean break prepared her for University. Peaches attended TheCentral school of Speech and Drama in 2001 where she achieved a BA Hon In Drama and Education and Applied Theatre. Doing thisbrought her back to her dreams of wanting to be an all round entertainer but one that can engage with any audience and have alaugh, a performer who can perform and give their all, leaving the audience wanting more. Peaches graduated from universityin 2004 and since set up my own company called Reality Bytes to support young people in chasing their dreams. Peachesperformed at Theatre Royal Stratford East in a production called Da Boyz alongside Kat from MTV/Choice Fm, Excalibah from1XTRA, Kyza from Terrarfirma and many more stars in 2003. Angie Lemar has been a mentor for Peaches and has supported andadvised her to this very day. She has produced shows of her own and had a launch for her company (Reality Bytes), which washeld at Theatre Royal Stratford East in 2004 and was a sell out show.
