Therapy Mus!cArtcha discovered he had a love of music at the tender age of 8 with musical influences such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. The 26 year old from North London is no stranger to the music industry and from the age of 17 the young talent begun to perfect his craft writing verses and building his confidence as a performer. Since then, Artcha has continued to excel, accredited in his own right for his achievements. As an original member of the One Crew which launched promising stars such as Sway, Pyrelli and Mr Ti2bs, Artcha has been noted as coming from “a solid hip hop background†(RWD Magazine Jan. 2007) with a wealth of experience. In March 2003 Artcha won the Home-Grown Cuts competition on Radio 1 Xtra for the track ‘N.O.M.A.D’ with 48% of the public vote, demonstrating the ‘buzz’ surrounding the young rapper. In 2004 Artcha was also honoured to be chosen to represent the UK in BET’s Global Hip Hop search. This opportunity gained him even more respect and credibility.By the end of 2005 a chance meeting with the independent record label, The Schizofreniks saw the beginning of his largest project to date Therapy Sessions an eclectic album which provides a variety of musical genres demonstrating the artist’s fearless ability to be diverse and appeal to a wide range of audiences.An exciting and vibrant performer, Artcha has done shows around the country from top West End clubs such as Rococo’s, Click Club and Café de Paris to large festivals like the Notting Hill Carnival. His most recent performances have included the Love Music Hate Racism Tour in Essex, the Martin Luther King Birthday Celebration in Peterborough and a live band performance at Oh! Bar in Camden, where he continued to keep audiences entertained. Artcha’s hard work and humility have also gained him respect and admiration from DJs and industry peers alike, Touch magazine quotes, “Artcha’s music could be seen as reflective of….life, emotions, thoughts and the contradictions within all the above…..lets hope he’ll be sticking around to provide us with a little more music therapy†(Oct. 2006).The success of Therapy Sessions so far has also been reflected as Artcha’s music receives a positive radio response. ‘The Hype’ has received frequent rotation on the Jenny Francis show and tracks such as ‘Wow Wow’ and ‘Alter Ego’ have also been play listed on DJ 279’s critically acclaimed Friday Night Flava’s (Choice FM 96.9). Artcha’s work can also be heard on a variety stations across the country including Radio 1 Xtra, Xtreme, Kiss and Sweet FM. Artcha’s current single ‘Fatal Beauty’ was ranked number 2 in the Overplay Hip Hop Charts in April 2006 and ‘The Hype’ was voted number 1 on the Pulse Rated Charts in May 2006 for four months, demonstrating his success as an independent artist so far.Artcha is currently working on his next album as well as a theatre production with the Bernie Grants Art Centre.
