DJ Caramac

About Me

Caramac started off as a DJ playing college and house parties. Impressed by his skills most people he met along the way asked him to be a show dj for them (Lewis Parker, Jehst, Klashnekoff, Ddubble Impactt), spinning instrumentals and providing cuts for tunes. His first main gig was probably the most memorable and changing. A talent show hosted by Tim Westwood and Funky DL that showcased some of the most promising acts this country had to offer at the time. It was whilst DJing for Lyrical Cast, Caramac met Kyza. A bright young hope from West London that stood out from the rest of the crowd. The two clicked instantly and have worked together as DJ and Rapper at shows up and down the country ever since. In addition to this they had a show on Juice FM called The Lesson that ran for 3 years. It was like a who's who of the UK Rap scene passing through the doors during that time.Whilst Kyza was making headway as a rapper working with the likes of Jehst and Klashnekoff, Caramac was working on his music saving for equipment. The first tune recorded and as it goes first released featured another new comer to the scene. Sway Dasafo from The One Crew. Now known as just Sway. Simple and Plain was the song that took everyone by surprise. Radios play listed it, DJs were hounding the artists down for copies and magazines featured it on their cover CD's at the time. From that one track Caramac was asked to produce for other people. Whilst being part lazy and part selective he was approached by Myst (Sorecs) who was searching for beats for his new artist Lowkey. Both impressed with each others musical talents they recorded two tunes in one day. Happy Ending and Who's To Blame. The first a love track dedicated to a certain woman in Lowkey's life and the second a scathing attack on industry people Lowkey had met along the way. Again radio, DJs and magazines were all over the tunes. Happy Ending has said to be one of Caramac's best tunes.''I get people coming up to me all the time telling me they want a beat like that or you should have given me that beat''Since then he's gone onto record tunes with Lewis Parker, Mr Ti2bs, Jargon, Pyrelli, MCM, Ddubble Impactt, Spellz Louie G and Stylah to name just some.Goals - ''To make good music and bring the best out in the artist I work with.''Influences - DJ Premier, Havoc, Beat Minerz, DITC, EPMD, PE, The list goes on...
