In the studio working on our debut album!

About Me

Mosaik was formed in early 2005 with the amalgamation of four very independent, original musical styles. The band was originally driven by the solo career of the now co-songwriter for Mosaik, Kirby Young, who commands both guitar and vocals. Looking to add a new dimension to his music, Kirby joined forces with three musicians of various backgrounds, the evolution of which was something greater than anyone could have fathomed. Co-writer Will Prescott also shares guitar and vocals fashioning a complementary sound between the two unique voices of Kirby and Will. Mosaik’s sound has begun to flourish utilising the power of two singer/songwriters, the distinctive bass lines of Matt "Thomo" Thomson and the flowing beats of Daniel "Middlez" Middlemiss.
Acoustic rock is a quick way to describe what is chilled out music, with sudden bursts of heartfelt exhilaration. The band has played at such venues as The Espy, Ruby’s Lounge, Live@Crown, Hifi Bar and the Barwon Club in Geelong (among many others) with artists including The Whitlams, Tim Rogers, Rob Sawyer, Josh Pyke, Smokie, Diana Anaid, Old Man River, James Reyne, Monique Brumby and The Vasco Era, with a fantastic response. The boys also played with Diesel and Paul Dempsey at the inaugural March for Melanoma to support The Emily Tapp Foundation.
Mosaik signed a record deal with ZATZIT in December 2005 and have been working hard getting ready for touring Australia in the coming months before a single/album release later this year. The guys spent many a day preparing a sneak preview of their work ("Bridge Road") at Soup studios on Bridge road (hence the highly clever name). By all means grab yourself a copy of the demo at their next gig!
Their acoustic based rock will be sure to impress even the harshest critic... J..ger Uprising @ The Greyhound. Presented By Inpress. “Mosaik hit the stage and you sense from the first song that this band has every chance of making it. Sounding like Powderfinger vocally, they feature two vocalists. The guys play acoustic guitars. The songs work. Hummable and catchy. The crowd really responded and the band finished with a cool song that reminded me of CSNY (Crosby, Still, Nash and Young). Sweet harmonies, cool guitars”. Neil Wedd 7/10/05
So make sure you check these boys out! Its good stuff just trust us ok.
