About Me

Oxalis finds its niche in the classic Celtic tradition of Ireland. Irish flute, fiddle, tin whistle, guitar, bodhran (Irish drum), and the less conventional autoharp, preserve the time-honored tradition of musicians bound together by an affinity for playing the tunes they have come to love best -- jigs, hornpipes, and good old-fashioned reels as well as the occasional story told in song.
The original members of the band came together in 1996 as Luck Money, and evolved with the talents of other musicians into Oxalis, the botanical name for the North American shamrock, and notoriously regarded as a pernicious weed.
Oxalis brings together five accomplished musicians that feature Tom Donovan (Flute, Whistle, Bodhran, Vocals), Daria Donovan (Celtic AutoHarp), Swan Montgomery (Acoustic Guitar, Vocals), Ellen Campbell (Fiddle), and Bill Marks (Bass).
We invite you to enjoy the spirited Celtic enthusiasm of Oxalis - a taste of Gaelic that's sure to catch your fancy.
