Drove from OR today through Astoria, a tiny community on the water-found a great diner & it was great to watch everyone in there - the locals who all knew each other, the sense of a support they give ...

So,it was a cool ride- when i left CA it was about 80 degrees...as i hit 5000 feet up in the mountains of NV, the temp fluctuated a great deal as i saw snow on the caps...blue sunny skies...people ski...

well, i am out here in california...took a drive down the 101...a beautiful variety of scenery...from the sheep farms to the ocean, the redwoods to the vineyards, the backpackers & hitchhikers & biker...
