Guiding Principles
Life is better when you live in the present moment.
Want more of what you do have and less of what you don't have.
When people constantly judge or criticize you, they're saying a lot more about themselves and a lot less about you. Keep it in perspective.
All good things require work, including relationships.
Be social, make friends, and have fun.
No one can make you angry or sad. You control your own emotions.
We need to respect the earth and all living things that are on it.
Avoid learning things the hard way.
Don't let your life be too easy. Challenge will help you grow as a person.
Be kind and helpful or at the very least, do no harm.
My creativity has turned to poetry most recently. My photographic eye sees the world in a unique way, and am happy to find my camera in hand again these days.
I'm just happy to create as I can, when I can. That is paramount. Lately, I've been trying to find a better balance between work and all-the-things-I-love. I think my problem is that I love too many things. To be able to do them all would put me in the poorhouse...what with the not having time to actually work, and all.
My Dreams: I will finish my novel, start the next one and get published... and get my photos published in a gorgeous and weighty, hardbound coffee table book... I will have enough time to consume all the books I've been wanting to read... and learn enough classical and blues guitar to play quite a few songs without a book in front of me... I will fix up my house the way I want... and plant a beautiful garden to get lost in on summer evenings... there are more dreams, but ... well, a girl has to keep some things close to her heart, right?

Photography
Since my photographs have been collecting dust in boxes and portfolios for too long, I thought it would be better to share my vision with the world. I am a traditional photographer so all the images you will see are made on real film and printed in a real darkroom. Any "special effects" have been achieved either in-camera or in-darkroom...except for the Drum Angel, which was made by digitally merging two photos.
