CMI, Cash Mattock Inc., was formed in late 2004 by Cash Mattock as a platform for his debut release. Cash Mattock has worked with bands such as The Moviees in his nine years of involvement in the music industry. In that time frame he has established a wide variety of connections on the east coast in music, film and television.
Now, we are a full service independent record company that offers producing, publishing, management, booking, P.R., and global distribution. CMI is currently networking to the west coast and over seas. We also offer promotion packages to select bands for collage, non-commercial and small market commercial radio across the globe.
CMI Records (Cash Mattock Inc) is currently looking for investors or to possibly partner with other entities within the music and film industry. Our intention is to create larger promotional and financial backing for our larger projects without disturbing the freedoms we enjoy by being an independent record label. The film features interviews with indie music experts including Derek Sivers (Founder of CD Baby), Panos Panay (Founder of Sonicbids) and Suzanne Glass (Founder of Indie-Music.com), as well as with 20 artists including Ember Swift and Paul Cargnello.In defining what it means to be ’indie’, as well as looking at the changing landscape in the music industry, the film ends up being a rallying cry for indie artists, and has been hailed as ‘inspiring’ and ‘empowering’ by artists worldwide.Directed by Dave Cool and self-financed through his record label Stand Alone Records, the documentary was filmed primarily in his home town of Montreal, with additional filming in New York City, Boston and Toronto.
