About Me

My proper name's Edgar Eugene Barnette Jr. Dad went by Gene, I have an older half brother who'd been named after his father, so Junior was also taken. I also have a younger brother named Edward, so Ed or Edgar were out (though I don't know what they called me before he'd been born. I only heard an approximation of my real name when I was in big trouble. Then I was Ed Gary (thinkaboutit)).. So dad said screw it, just call him Butch.. Growing up, Butch wasn't 'cool' enough to me and at one point, I adopted the nickname 'Taco'.. I know, I know... You don't nickname yourself, and besides WHY would a halfbreed kid do THAT to himself?! My little brother (whos' name I had first,) still likes to tease me about that.. Then there was the 'Shorty' phase.. What can I say? Though I was never tall, I was never really a midget either... I just wanted something cooler than Butch!! When I was a kid, Butch (thanks to the 'lil rascals') was the name for a tough guy or a bully.. I was neither. Nowadays, well... we all know what a butch is.. I ain't that neither, and I'm taking the name back!! Sure, so I grew up with a self induced identity crisis, but I'm here to tell you that I've finally grown into my full name... So now I've told you all about me and I haven't really told you a thing.. Say! New thought! What if I just went by Eu (short for Eugene)!? That way if you just said 'Hey you!' , you'd at least sound right... Naw.. (also sounds like 'Eeww!)... just call me butch!! real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools

Sounds Like: .. some guy from the Billboard songwriting contest (05') said I had a Randy Newman vibe on one of the songs I entered, and said I had a Leon Redbone vibe on another.. I dunno.. Being a navybrat and having grown up on both coasts, I have a mixed up accent that's hard to nail down, but invariably sounds kind of country whether I'm playing rock, blues or folk, but somehow not country enough when I'm playing country.. hmm.. mode="transparent"..
