About Me

Check out my deviantART page!

First of all: If you send me a Friend Request, please send me a message, also. I'm not going to accept you as a friend without a reason! No message, no friend. You lose.
I define myself by the people I've met, the souls I've helped, the experiences I've had, the scars I've endured, and the goals I hold for the future. Life is mutable. Opportunities abound. Fate is not destined, though destiny is your fate. Everything you do is a choice. There is no right answer. There is no action without a consequence. Inaction is, itself, a choice and an action, thus having consequences.

food is great. Books are fantastic. Music is heaven. Art is the voice of the soul. Stop yourself once and awhile, and listen to the world around you - everything lives, everything breathes - you're just a cog in the great ever-changing machinery that is the passage of time.

born and raised in New Jersey, I value the importance of having an opinion; voicing that opinion proudly and loudly; defining my own style and listening to my own beliefs; being classy, not conceited; respectful but clever; cute, not bratty; sexy, not slutty; goofy but intelligent; enjoying the gift of life, not just the pleasures it brings; indulgence in moderation; self-control; a passion for yourself and curiosity for the world you live in; knowing you are not what others perceive, but the person you make yourself to believe in; strength in knowing yourself and support from your family and friends, whoever they may be; pushing the limits but knowing when you cross the line;

open minds can only be achieved with an open heart; knowing your weaknesses and using them as your strengths; knowing others' weaknesses and loving them for those downfalls; being creative for yourself, not for the praise; being confident enough to follow your dreams, no matter what anyone else has to say; being humble enough to ask for help, no matter where it comes from; not being afraid to laugh, dance, cry, wave, shout, sing, hug, or smile; never compromising your desires, your words, or your feelings for someone else; not being afraid to ask questions or say what you really want; not taking everything seriously; understanding that presence, love, actions, and affection speak so much louder than words, but words are the foundation of all human value and interaction - so be careful what you say, but be even more careful about what you do.

I'd like to meet:

the Curious, the Passionate, the Humorous, the Lost, the Questioning, the Geeks, the Silly, the Thinkers, the Care-givers, the "I want more"s, the Outspoken, and the Forgotten.

Music:

Since I don't have any way of explaining my musical interests as other than "eclectic," I'll just say that I play piano, the tin whistle, and accoustic guitar, currently, however I've played the flute, saxophone, fife, and recorder in the past. A generalized list of what genres I listen to (in no particular order of preference) are as follows:

Traditional Celtic
Modern Celtic
Traditional and modern tribal
(African, Native American, Middle Eastern, Indian, Japanese)
Classical and modern Latino
Techno
(trance, house, progressive, jungle, goa, drum 'n' bass)
Classic metal/rock
Modern metal/rock or "hard core"
Electronic
Industrial
Classical
Old school punk
New age
Goth
Ska
Alternative
(minus Nirvana)
Percussion
Swing
Europop
and what I call "the undefinables" such as Mindless Self Indulgence, Massive Attack, Lisa Gerard, and many different soundtracks.
(Less-so interests): pop, R & B, rap, J-pop, classical-techno mixes, top 40s, opera, modern "pop" punk (Blink 182, Story of the Year, etc.), Emo (and varying forms including Screamo), backyard metal or "thrash" metal. These are more on a song-by-song basis.

Here: have a listen!
(Click "Launch Standalone Player" so you can keep listening while you surf)

Movies:

Usually (not exclusively and in no preferential order):

Period pieces, drama, romance, comedy (minus the potty-humor), adult "children's" (like Harry Potter and Atlantis), 80's, anime (subtitled), action, science fiction.
(More than) a few favorites would be:
Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, What Dreams May Come, Interview With the Vampire, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, X2, Disney's The Lion King, Amadeus, Dances With Wolves, Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Ever After, The Cell, Sin City, Edward Scissorhands, The Last Samurai, Titan A.E., Willow, Fight Club, Spiderman and Spiderman 2, The Matrix, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The Secret of Roan Inish. The Red Violin, Eurotrip, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
*takes a deep breath* And, of course, my anime: Chobits, Full Metal Panic!, Sorcer Hunters, Trigun, Vandread, Wolf's Rain, Escaflowne, Neon Genesis Evangalion, Jin Roh, Ghost in the Shell, Princess Mononoke.

Television:

After living with no/little TV at college the last few years, I'm fairly limited to the news, discovery channel, comedy channel, and cartoon network. This is also mostly due to the fall of core TV programing to reality show knock-offs, CSI knock-offs, bad "family" sitcoms, and teeny-bopper soap operas like the WB. *sigh* So I'm restricted to a few animated shows and my movies. But a few favorites would be: Futurama, Gargoyles, the Hercules and Xena series (yes, I know, hate me), Simpsons, and King of the Hill, Drawn Together, The Venture Brothers, Myth Busters, and Mind of Mencia.

Books:

Nora Roberts, graphic novels and manga, Anne Rice, british sci-fi/fantasy (Tanith Lee, J.K. Rowling, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett) occasionally my textbooks, and a few others that I might squeeze in here and there.
Right now I'm working on Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Through Parallel Universes, Time Warps, and the 10th Dimension by Michio Kaku.

Heroes:

Spiderman, my father (I know, cliché, but it's true), the Wallace Three , Johnny Depp, Dorian Cleavanger, and anyone else I've come to admire and have been inspired by.

Guinness is good for you

Mr. Vinnie is also my hero.
