SPEAKEASY JAZZ

Hi. I'm Bradley Scott Tharp. I lead The SPEAKEASY JAZZ ORCHESTRA. I'm a vocalist and I play "scream" trumpet. I also happen to own SPEAKEASY. I learned to play by listening to Maynard Ferguson albums. Most other big bands (around Louisville) don't have charts that allow me to explore the stratosphere as much as I'd like, so I started our own eighteen piece in-house jazz orchestra. We play the six major ballroom dance styles, the music of Maynard Ferguson, as well as some of the best Vegas-era crooning standards.
My wife, Lori, and I are more subtle when we're playing dinner music. We're the typical martini bar lounge-lizards. Honestly, it's Lori that the patrons come to listen to. She's gotten quite the following. On a playful note, I'm using this MySpace site to feature ME! Recently, I've been recording some original arrangements in a "Chase" (Bill Chase) format. So far, it's me playing every instrument (gotta love the mutitrack!). But, who knows - my alter-ego may eventually take the stage at SPEAKEASY...
