About Me

I'm Bobby- originally a Robert but "Bobby" has stuck to me------ I'm 27 years old- I graduated (Fall 2005) UofL w/ BA MUSIC degree- (jazz studies)-also a minor in HISTORY. ---- I'm a musician (drummer) who plays quite a bit around town-----I also teach at KY. SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND and MOM'S MUSIC (Mellwood)- perc. ensemble, lessons, jazz/bluegrass/rock groups-----I would describe my individual style as being very unique... I try to achieve an instrumental "chamber sound" and I use alot of broad elements/influences in my original music- the main element being JAZZ music- but however, Jazz is only one element of my music--- Lately I'm very influenced by the writing/integrity of Steely Dan, Michael MacDonald, among others.- I'm also influenced by other cultures..-I perform regulary at the JAZZ FACTORY, AVALON, SHENIGAN'S, QDOBA, MAKER'S MARK, ARTEMESIA, and other events/private functions. -----I also work part-time at UPS.. I also love to have fun doing ANYTHING- I live in the Highlands, and I love hanging with my two crazy roommates...- plain layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com

My Interests

Me in a nutshell... - I consider myself somewhat of an intellectual.. (this may give alot of people the wrong impression about me if they don't truly know me)... somwhat of an introvert...I'm an Eagle scout..... I value the relationships I have with people...and I try to maintain those relatioships as best as I can.... I'm a big BOXING fan... also huge Basketball fan.. I love REAL Cherry cokes... I believe everyone has their faults... I'm not a religious person but somewhat spiritual as I get a bit older... I'm really into John Coltrane's music... I believe with JAZZ MUSIC you can hear/feel a person's life story; that truly cannot be said in alot of other types of music.. .. Both of my parents are musicians... As I get older I also realize my parent's aren't all that stupid afterall...I have a older brother, Andrew, who is deaf.... I have alot of respect for people who WORK out in the real working world..- I believe it says alot about a person when they HOLD a job for a period of time... I've played the drums since I was about 12... I also LOVE piano and write my music on the piano.. Eventually I might move to either New York, Chicago, Boston, a bigger city to pursue my music... I drive a 1997 Honda Accord...I've dated quite a bit the last 1-2 years but not really found the right person I guess. I'm guess I'm looking for a certain "type of person".. I don't worry about it... I wanna go to New York sometime for vacation sometime relatively soon.... Please check out my music and tell me what you think... I also graduated UofL (2005) with a Minor in HISTORY but don't know what the heck I'll do with that!... I can frequently be a goofball/very spontanious but please don't take that seriously at all- I believe HUMOR is good for the world... I don't get into politics and religion with people, and don't like it when I'm around people doing that.. I believe everyone is entitled to their beliefs... I also love LIVE MUSIC.. Be sure to support the arts in general... My Fav. boxers/fighters are Bernard Hopkins, Joe Frazier, Marvin Hagler, Sonny Liston, and Evander Holyfield... Basketball I like Dywayne Wade- I think he's unbelievable and a great role model.. I have alot of family in Austin, TX... I think smoking is a mild turn-off.. but I don't care if you do it- it's your life/your body.. before I'm 30, I want to build up my body a bit more/fill out, and develop a second career as a model... just kidding...
