I've been playing piano and singing professionally since I was seven - gospel, back then. I enjoyed some regional success as a contemporary christian artist later, but never found musical freedom until I studied voice at Indiana University, in Bloomington. Since then, I perform all things from opera to jazz. I'm currently a high school choir teacher. I'm organist and choirmaster at an Episcopal church in Louisville, and I've earned a Master's degree from Trevecca Nazarene University (in Nashville). I'll soon be starting my doctoral studies at Southern Baptist Seminary and freelancing around the Louisville area. Seems I've always been working in the church. After all, the chuch is the longest running employer of musicians. Ever. As a musician, I guess that means job security. Or, at least, the closest thing to job security a musician can hope for! I also enjoy being a lounge-lizard while playing dinner gigs and small clubs. I love the standards.
Some of my more up-tempo work can be heard when I'm singing with The BST Blast! - an eighteen piece jazz orchestra led by the uber-hot crooner and scream-trumpet extraordinaire, Bradley Scott Tharp. (He's also my husband, so back off!) Acting and directing also own some real estate in the community that is my life, but overall, you may call me a musician.
