About Me

I work with things and stuff.. ideas and materials.. I'm also part of the artists collective ContentsMayVary organising and putting on shows.
My official artist statement is: "I intend to create a sense of curiosity through the manipulation of mundane objects and materials. Mass-produced, anonymous objects are often rendered dysfunctional caricatures of themselves. My intent is to blur distinctions between the absurd and the mundane by creating or accentuating subtleties, whilst addressing concepts of purpose and futility."
I do not want to sell my work. If people want to give me money to do what I do that'd be grand but moreso atm I would love for people to provide me with spaces to show.. or point me in the direction of them :D Any space I will try to work with. With Contents May Vary I have shown in a derelict Victorian swimming baths, a city centre office space, the back of a London taxi, 2 different residental spaces and alongside a live music gig. We also have our work distributed around the world in printed format.

Movies:

Yes I like films. I have a really shit memory for films though - if you asked me if I'd seen a particularly film I probably wouldn't be able to tell you. I don't have favourite films and I've seen a lot of crap films. But from the dredges of my memory: Film makers/directors I admire include David Lynch, Johan Grimonprez, Chris Cunningham.

Television:

Throw away your TV!! It is an evil mind control device!! Yeh there are a few good programmes but 99% is utter brainwashing shite.

Books:

Books are great too :) Douglas Adams is one of my favourite writers along with Iain Banks, Rob Grant, Irvine Welsh, John Berger, Bertrand Russell, Rosalind Krauss... Bruce Nauman's writings are great too. Of course Bram Stoker's Dracula is a classic. Other great books: Shallow Graves in Siberia by Michael Krupa , The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera

Heroes:

I have no idols although I admire many people. Bill Hicks. Bill Bailey. Genius.
