Insanity Reigns Supreme

1991 : In that year Insanity Reigns Supreme spawned their first demo-tape. On it early Death-metal is slightly mixed with Trash-metal and flavoured with some avant-garde influences like classic female vocals and the occasional synth-intermezzo. Ron & Chris (guitars), Criz (vocals), Flip (drums) and Chan (+) & Sid (bass) embark with this release on their quest to share their dark and aggressive view upon music with the rest of the world. 1993 : Flip and Sid had left the band by now and the remaining three-some recorded a song for the Belgian metal-sampler ’Detonation vol.I’. The song is called ’Secular Condolence’ and during the release-party the band teams up with their drummer Edward. 1995 : ’Our Path is Dark and Lonely’ was released. On this demo-tape the band unveils, for the first time, their unique mix of Death- & Doom-metal for which they have received a well-earned and rock-hard reputation all over the world. With Omer on bass it was time to start working on their solid live-reputation as well. 1998 : ’... and Darkness Drowned the Land Divine’ was released. This album has become somewhat of a cult-album within the doom-scene and on it the band explores the doom-side of their music to it’s full potential indeed. Female vocals where added on some songs to give the music an extra dimension. All the artwork that comes with this album was produced by the band itself and in that way it perfectly underlines the atmosphere of the music. 2001 : A self-produced video was released for the song ’La Tristesse Eternelle’. This is pure cult ... go and see it on You-Tube. 2004 : ’Prophecy of Doom’ was released. With Roel (guitars) and Burt (bass) as replacements for Chris and Omer the band unleashed a dark album that explores the death-side of their unique musical mix and leaves the audience shredded of their sanity after listening to these skull impaling songs of hate. Once again, all artwork surrounding the music was self-produced. 2005 : With Chris back on bass the band fortifies it’s live-reputation and starts working on new songs. 2007 : A live-video for the new song ’Worship’ was released on YouTube. 2008 : The band continues to compose new songs and the INSANE CULT OF DOOM is stronger and more persistent than ever ...
