About Me

Hi! Pleased to meet you.
I’m an artist, a writer, a Londoner, a cultural critic, a tattooed hunk, a pop historian and eternal optimist.
I’ve got to this point in my life via punk, goth, gay, queer, post queer and I’m now fascinated to see where life will take me next.
As I get older, I want to find new ways to stay interested, interesting and alive. I want more than to stand around in bars, collect rainbow coloured teddy bears and to go to dinner parties. To paraphrase the Shangri-La’s, I want to have a past, a present and a future.
I have a day job, but also express myself in many different ways.
My current areas of creativity are:
Pisszine : A magazine collaboration with my good friend C.O.D.Y, of queer words and visuals. First issue out and a smash hit!.
English Disco : A shadowy organization that celebrates, documents and perpetuates English popular culture in its many shapes and forms. Plans for both print and audio media are in progress.
At the end of the 20th Century, I used to write and publish my own ‘zine, POP! (Which is where my daft name comes from), and I’m now finding blogging as a logical development for my pop cultural and autobiographical writing.
I also make visual art, a mix of painting and woodblock prints. Some examples of my woodcut prints influenced by traditional Japanese printmaking and Western tattooing are posted in my picture section. None of my more nuder and ruder paintings are on show as they "contain nudity, violent or offensive material, or copyrighted images", and they get deleted within an hour of posting them here, but plans are afoot for a website....once I teach myself how to build one….
And I’m here on Myspace in an attempt to connect with a wider world…with people who live in other places and live different lives. ... I want to be part of a bigger world than just my house, my street, my town.
Drop me a line. Tell me something about yourself. How’s your day going? If you want to "friend" me, it would be nice if you sent a few words along with your friend request! Let’s exchange some ideas, some energy! Maybe talk to me about art, show me your tattoos or tell me your dreams. Am I in them?

I'd like to meet:

Anyone with an open heart and mind.

…dreamers, schemers, screamers, punk survivors, the transgendered, the tattooed, rock n roll women, the bearded, the too-old-to-teenage-rampage, the funny ha-ha and the funny peculiar, the wild, the beautiful and the damned, artists, writers, people who DO things, the Latino, Italian Stallions, the Guapo, the naturally foxy, the unnaturally foxy, porn star, torn stars, drag acts, drug acts……

But, please, if you are a fascist or lesbian/woman hating misogynist faggot, don't bother, as we probably wont get along….

It was the best thing I ever did.

Heroes:

You.
Basically, my heroes are you. Yes, you out there in Myspace land. You are my hero's for living your life (or trying to) the way you want.
For writing that book, making that music, for being a good friend to your friends
For trying new things, for raising your kids alone, for being so kind to others.
For that shockingly outrageous drag, for those amazing tattoos, for being so fucking sexy I can't stand it!
For living out your dreams, for expressing your preferences in hostile environments, for being brave.
For your sense of humour, you're kindness and your great taste in shoes.
For all that hard work you put into your website, for the long hours spent on that painting, for that great event you organised.
For dancing like a mad person, for working so hard at a shit job, for reaching out to connect to others.
For making that film with no funding, for being able to hold your liquor, for being too cool for school.
For your witty conversation, your great tits and your wicked sense of humour.
For all these reasons, and many other things, you are all my heroes.
