About Me

Born in GlasgoW, Scotland, Mr. Livewire grew up absorbing house music and the sound of the legendary Sub Club. He got his first set of decks in 1993 at the age of 14 after hearing mixtapes from a club night called Pure in Edinburgh. Using his fake ID Mr.livewire would sneak into the venue and catch early sets from guests like Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Mike Banks, Jeff Mills, and Carl Craig.Mesmerized by the sound of second wave Detroit techno pioneers Mr. Livewire picked up DJ'ing and was a regular on the city's underground party scene by fifteen.Driven by the Chicago house sound of artists like Boo Williams, Cajmere and Gemini, by the early to mid-nineties he was mixing in bars and clubs in and around Glasgow. He started playing around with early trackers on the Atari ST in 1995 and got serious about producing in 1999, taking up a degree in music production.Mr.livewire was picked up by Lady D's, D'lectable Music and put out his first record in September 2004.Mr. Livewire has evolved from his early second wave Detroit influences to style influenced by the deeper sound of producers such as Chez Damier, Ron Trent, St.Germain, Glenn Underground, Moodyman, Theo Parrish and Jazzanova.
