A vinyl addict since 1996 Gareth took an enforced break from DJing after playing records so much his ears melted. A lengthy spell in recovery followed listening to nothing but bird song and car traffic. He started mimicking these sounds using only two coffee mugs and a spoon. Many hours were spent perfecting his new sound when he discovered he could recreate the intro to ‘Crockets Theme’ after watching only one episode of Miami Vice.On hearing this, the Doctors were amazed at Gareth’s new found skill and brought him a MacBook with Ableton Live installed and a dusty copy of Tony Blackburn’s ‘Disco Meltdown’ CD from the hospital radio station. The Doctors were sceptical about how a man could beat match with only a pair of prosthetic ears but decided to book him to play the hospital canteen anyway.
After the gig one nurse reported quivering to the latest Lindstrom & Prins Thomas record. Acting on this instinct and using his innate geek ability Gareth began researching lots of neglected genres such as Disco, Italo Disco, Proto House, Synthpop, Electro, Miami Bass and many others. If he could touch a nurse with such raw emotion, what could he do to an entire audience armed with the right music?
Since November 2007 Gareth has returned to issuing sonic boom inducing mixes under the guise of a ‘Podcast’ which can be found here:
