18th empire are a Dublin based alternative indie rock band. The four-piece met in college in 2004 and have been together for less than two years.All hailing from different parts of the country, 18th empire are Richie (guitar/vocals), Linus (guitar/vocals), Adam (bass) and Anthony (drums). The four were brought together by a shared love of all things to do with music and cite bands such as Thin Lizzy, Joy Division, Rush, The Frames and Gang of Four as influences.Their music is a mixture of indie, punk, and alternative rock. They write and play catchy, clever and upbeat tunes while still maintaining an original sound. They mix powerful vocals, brilliant and bright melodies and creative rhythms, resulting in music that grabs hold of the listener and appeals to a wide and varied audience.The past year has seen the lads writing new material and perfecting their sound, while playing a string of live shows in some of Dublin’s top music venues alongside some of Dublin’s top acts.The quartet are currently concentrating on the recording of their four track, yet untitled, debut EP due for release spring 2007.
