All I ever wanted to be was wealthy or somebody to tell me that they felt me.

About Me

"I am the C.E.O. of myself"My name is Habiba. I was born on the same day as Prince and Nikki Giovanni and I take that very seriously.I went to Detroit Public Schools, graduating from Cass Technical High School in 1993 after majoring in Vocational Music and playing the Cello. (That's right, the Cello, bitches)I went on to attend four different colleges before ending up at Marygrove College in Detroit, where I was a History Major... I also studied Detroit Studies... I graduated on May 12, 2007 after 14 years of higher education. My first industry job was Assistant Manager at Sam Goody in Northland Mall. Went from The Goody, to Warner Music Group. This was a cool job, because I made a shit load of money and met a lot of celebrities...Started writing for Real Detroit Weekly, an even better job, I learned how great of a writer I really was and developed my skills... I wrote an unprecedented FOUR cover stories in nine months, and then left. I am still on the contributors lists at Allhiphop.com, RapBasement.com, Source.com, BET.com, Sister 2 Sister, and XXL... I really want to get into Essence, as a writer and a subject.I am currently the Arts & Culture Editor for The Michigan Citizen Newspaper. I love Entertainment Journalism, because it gives me the chance to write about unique people, places, and things...and it gets me into a lot of shit for free!!!I recently launched my newest business venture, Detroit's Daughter, LLC.My company specializes in Public Relations and Entertainment Marketing Services.
