Music is my best friend. I can count on it when Im feeling good or when Im not. It listens to me and allows me to express myself any way I see fit. Without music in my life, it would be difficult to find another outlet that could handle the amount of energy I have to give it.
When you listen to Ms. Davis, you soon realize you are in the mist of a truly blessed and gifted talent. With a voice that can silent a room and touch the hearts of each listener, Ms. Davis expresses: Passion, Sensuality, Maturity and a soothing sense of tranquility with every note sung. Born on February 2, 1982 of South African decent and residing in Canada, Ms. Davis brings a world of experience to her craft. In her 23 years, Ms Davis has seen and experienced many life altering changes and through music she is ready to share them with the world.Singing and writing has always been apart of Ms. Davis life. Coming from a musical family, music has always had a bonding effect with her and her father (who in his own right is an accomplished musician) as she embraces every moment they share together in and around the Toronto Music Scene. Everyday Im thankful for having the ability to not only write, but to also express my writing through singing. Being able to bring my own words alive with my voice leaves me in awe at times. It gives me instant gratification equal to receiving a spontaneous response from an audience when performing live. At those times, Im amazed my music is received so positively and strikes a cord with people.For the past three years, Ms. Davis has embarked on a soul searching journey by turning professional and choosing to take the music scene head on. During this time, Ms. Davis has honed her talent by singing backup for UMAC Award Winner Ray Robinson and some of R&B and Soul Musics other Movers and Shakers which include: Juno Award Winner Keisha Chante, Jully Black, Esthero, Erik Simmons and Dwight Anderson. Yet, with every performance, the one thing that is clear, Ms Davis has been true to herself first and foremost and its evident with her growing fan base.Reflecting on her recent experiences, Ms. Davis notes:
In the last few years, Ive seen and experienced a lot. Ive had the privilege of working with many great people and witnessed the ups and the downs they have to go through in this game. Being exposed to all of this, I believe, has helped me to become even more determined to strive for my own success. If there is one thing Ive learned over the years, its to find good, honest, trustworthy people that I can count on. Knowing that I have a strong team working with me gets me one step closer to reaching my ultimate goal of having a long and successful career.In Canada, the music scene is changing and Ms. Davis is right in the mix of things. In the years to come, as a Singer/Songwriter; industry insiders and fans alike will soon come to realize that Ms. Davis is a driving force to be reckoned with.
