About Me

"I sell ice in the winter, I sell Fire in Hell, I am a hustler baby, I sell water to a well." - Jay-Z The Blueprint. September 11, 2001
Mr. Escobar is more often than not, the man shrouded in the shadows of the spotlight. As manager of several critical and commercially successful producers, his obscure presence within the recesses of focus is an enigma to an industry built upon publicity and a desire to take center stage. In an industry that always carried with it a notorious reputation for ruthless and shady business tactics, Mr. Escobar’s management styles are the comforting devices to those seeking professional and faithful representation. Nir’s abilities extend beyond simply managing talent, but also scouting and nourishing it. Whether it is through financial means or consultations, Nir has managed to build a string of successful and long-lasting business relationships with his clients that established him as a driving force within the Canadian music industry.
Born in Israel, and into a family with a long line of businessmen, Mr. Escobar had an almost genetically predisposed knowledge of the profession which was then further nurtured by his father and grandfather. His early childhood involved frequent displacement between his home in Toronto and one in New York. A natural born leader who developed a troubled relationship with authority figures, Mr. Escobar’s childhood was marred with repeated instances of that nature. Nevertheless, he proved to be a bright and charismatic child underneath his tough exterior. Mr. Escobar also developed a broad affinity for music, his eclectic taste in music provided him with a rich comprehension for music and its history.
Though delayed, Mr. Escobar managed to graduate high school as an Ontario Scholar, demonstrating his relentless drive and tenacious work ethics. Subsequently, Mr. Escobar was given prestigious offers of attendance to several post-secondary schools. But after short stints at the University of Toronto and the Harris Institute for music management, Mr. Escobar was confident there was nothing to learn in class he could not teach himself. From money saved, Mr. Escobar founded a Hip-Hop label aptly named Made Men signing several talented, up-and-coming artists from Toronto. In a short time, Made Men garnered significant buzz from the Canadian Hip-Hop community for their roster of talent, business efficiency and effectiveness. Though the label ultimately proved to be fruitless, the experience gained was not lost on Mr. Escobar and became an invaluable asset towards his next project.
Mr. Escobar continued to persevere - his persistence, patience and hard work began to pay off. He began receiving offers for several lucrative A&R positions which he ultimately declined for his own business aspirations. It was during this time he found his calling- managing producers. From relationships he'd built with several prominent artists, coupled with his loyal demeanor and business oriented mind, he served as an ideal middle-man between the artists and their product. Whether he was negotiating fees and consulting musical direction, Mr. Escobar’s management career began to truly blossom. Between the artists, producers and he, the only contractual obligation that existed was their word and a handshake - attesting to his dogmatic loyalty.
Despite his years, Mr. Escobar’s knowledge and wisdom regarding the music industry is beyond what age can prescribe. He has managed to create a large network for himself as well as establish himself as one of the music industry’s front-runners. With a long list of producers under his management, Mr. Escobar maintains an undeniably positive reputation for his business devices. Although his look remains tough and menacing, Mr. Escobar’s days of adolescent mischief have long been replaced by a mature, successful young entrepreneur. Paired with his loyalty nature and reliability, his future looks nothing short of promising. Mr. Escobar looks forward to ushering in timeless music for the ages.
