Born in the prime years of Hip-Hop Jason Hodges p.k.a. Dream Hodges felt in love with the culture at young age. “I remember I used to freestyle as my older brother would beat-box it was our way to deal with thingsâ€. Born in the U.S Virgin Islands, Dream spend most of his early life moving from place to place, as he watched his family and friends being consumed by drug epidemic of the 80’s. From NYC to all over Florida to finally calling Miami home. “I used my music as way to express what was inside, It was my way out.†Using music as his drive, Dream joined a Hip-Hop group named Anonymous in 1996 and became part of the Gospel/Urban super group Culture in 2000, As part of the collective he released “Twice in a Lifetime†the groups first EP in 2001. The record allowed him to get his feet wet in the industry, as he booked performances across the country and got local radio play. After 4 years of constant grind Culture received a record contract from LP records releasing their 1 single “Let em Breath.†After his 1 year run with LP, Dream decided It was time to go solo and expand his horizons. So in early 2007 after signing with Dream Big!! Management he dropped “Get Up†his first single from his self-titled debut album. The single has been a success receiving air-play both in Commercial & Gospel radio stations & in the process establishing Dream Hodges as a true crossover artist. “I want to make music that has a commercial appeal but still carries a message.
