Welcome to the Myspace page for the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Lamar, Village and Downtown, named best theater in the US by Entertainment Weekly 2005. We serve a full menu of pizzas, sandwiches, salads, entrees and desserts as well as a large selection of beers and wine.
The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown opened in May of 1997. This is a single screen location that shows a mix of new releases, documentaries, classics, cult classics, silent films, and original programming.
The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Village opened in May of 2001. A four screen complex that original opened in the early 1970's, the Village features 4 screens of new release movies, weekly midnight movies, Videoke, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema South Lamar was opened in March of 2005 and features six screens of new release movies, the Saturday Morning Film Club, the Dionysium, and numerous premieres, special events and food and film feasts.
After 10 great years at our original location on Colorado St. The Alamo Downtown has moved. We are now located in the historic Ritz Theater in the heart of Sixth St. Featuring 2 theaters and even more draft beers than before, make sure you make your way to the brand-spankin'-new theater now!
The Alamo Downtown, village and South Lamar are owned by Tim and Karrie League, who founded the company in 1997.
