BAND BIO
MAHAKALA are consisted of Alex Kid (throat, ex-SCUMS37), Big Badda (guitar, ex-HEAVIERTHANGOD), Jim Bob (bass, b-throat, TASTE OF GRIEF, ex-SCUMS37) and Costas (drums, LORD13, ex-HEAVIERTHANGOD).
On 2005 the quartet records its debut, self titled EP (with Smirnoff on vocals) and later on, releases it on Spanish indie label Parade Records . This first piece, limited to 1000 copies and mainly influenced by old school punk, early heavy rock and the 90’s stoner/sludge rock movement, receives an extremely positive response by all crowds and the worldwide press, giving the band one more reason to move on.
Sharing the stage with GRAND MAGUS (SWE), TAINT (UK), OBSCURA (GER), SEPTIC FLESH (GR), SABBAH NAVAHTHANI (CYP) and DARKFALL (AUS) amongst others MAHAKALA gained the likes of all audiences for their loud and energetic performances.
2007, finds the quartet’s sound turning into a SABBATH-ically groovy sludge ’n’ roll hybrid, combined with classic rock dopes, elements of modern extreme sound and minimal doomy riffage while enriched with a chaotic vocal duet.
MAHAKALA, being a band of barely a few years of existence, keep on performing, composing and recording brand new material for their upcoming full length album and -eventually- hiting the stage...
