One Block Society Are Fucking Dead!

About Me

"One Block Society are fucking dead that's what the answering machine said, looks like this is it!!! They talked one too many shit about the bourgeoisie and the government, did you hear what those faggots said in some fanzine someone else read? I heard they are a bunch of spoiled little rich kids who need to get their asses kicked. Fucking ingrates! Fucking pussies!! One Block Society are fucking dead guaw huydsas kjhds aowedde (fighting sequence). One Block Society are fucking dead by order of the postmaster general just like the Panthers only this time for real because undercover pigs have tapped their telephones and the Athens police raided their homes and they must have been killed."

(Text initially written by Born Against, later borrowed by Refused, recently adapted by One Block Society)A brief history...The band was formed in autumn 1995 initially by Zak (Vocals), Thomas (Guitar), Robert (Guitar), Harry (Drums) and Thanos (Bass) as a necessity for self-expression and creativity. The first musical attempts were a combination of the New York Hardcore sound with Emo-Punk at that time, while having a D.I.Y. political attitude. First concert took place in Villa Amalias Squat (May 1996), in Athens. Ever since, the band has gone through a lot of changes concering line-up, musical orientation and political attitude. Lyrics to the songs express socio-political beliefs and inner emotions influenced by political tendencies such as the International Situasionist and truly human experiences like friendship, love, hate, sexual pleasure and everyday life. After 12 years of performing countless live shows, touring, recording and experimenting on different genres of music (Hardcore, Alternative Rock, Soul, Punk, R 'n' R, etc.) the band decided to dismantle due to personal and musical differences. Each member currently continues to explore the music field through new projects..."Everything that every individual has ever done in all of human history and prehistory establishes the minimum boundary of the possible. The maximum, if any, is completely unknown."One Block Society would like to collectively thank:Every band we have ever shared the stage with, old friends, new friends & ex-friends, every individual or team effort made to support this project in any way, foes and enemies for the critique, triggering self-evaluation, all past members and last but not least YOU for being there at the shows, drinking with us, screaming & having fun, shouting the lyrics, dancing to the beat, stage-diving, mic-grabbing, pissing us off on stage, making this whole damn trip worth it!Thank you all... Sincerely. Defy the odds, demand the impossible...Zak / One Block Society (R.I.P. 1995 - 2007)Discography: Albums: "A Soundtrack For The Young And Passionate" (Knock-Out Productions, 2005) Compilation songs: "Radical Solutions (For The Working Class)" (Cannoball Records, 2002)(You can get in touch with each member of One Block Society on the Top Friends list... Cheers!)
