Where do I begin ?There's an old saying saying in my homeland " You can take the Scot out of Scotland but you can't take Scotland out of the Scot." I can vouch for that as I've lived and loved here in the States for many years and the music and stories of home still echo sweetly in my heart and flow strong in my veins. Which is why I enjoy keeping the flame burning.
I'm using this space to spread the Celtic seeds that are scattered worldwide. I am a prroud member of a group called FRIENDS OF CELTIC CULTURE who promote the music and arts of THE SEVEN CELTIC NATIONS in and around Bay City Michigan, USA ...We've already been blessed with many terrific artists such as GAELIC STORM, 7 NATIONS, SWITCHBACK, EMPTY FLASK , DEREK WARFIELD & THE WOLFTONES...EQUINOX, SONAS, PUB RUNNERS, PADDY DON'T DRINK, DIGGERS, KELLY'S HEROES, HUNTING McLEOD, GAELIC STORM, THE HOOLIES, THE GLEN GARRY BHOYS... Music:

I'm lucky to have been raised by my much loved Irish mum who shared her diverse love of music with her family and friends...People find it hard to believe I was raised singing along with PATSY CLINE and JIM REEVES music in the hills of Scotland...As wee ones we were encouraged to believe that EVERYONE has a song in their heart, which inspired us to share our gifts of soul...I LOVE ALL MUSIC - it brings us all together........I enjoy playing my autoharp and singing traditional songs from my childhood.....I'm blessed with many musically gifted and unique friends...My days here begin with a guid dose of older traditional Scottish & Irish music - such as; THE ALEXANDER BROTHERS, SIR HARRY LAUDER, ANDY STUART, JIMMY LOGAN, DOUGIE McLEAN, DANIEL O'DONNEL, THE CHIEFTANS and just for good measure JETHRO TULL, THE CLANCY BROTHERS,THE CORRIES, THE EAGLES,FOSTER & ALLEN, BOB DYLAN, JOHNNY CASH,JAMES TAYLOR, HERMINS HERMITS,FRANKIE MILLER, THE BEATLES,SLIM WHITMAN, VAL DOONIGAN, SAMMY HORNER & THE ELECTRICS,THE MOODY BLUES, PETER PAUL AND MARY,THE STEVE MILLER BAND, NORTON BUFFALO

THE CORRIES - STRANGEST DREAM.

JOAN BAEZ - WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE

FOSTER AND ALLEN...AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

Movies:

I don't watch much TV or movies. I believe that too much TV makes us brain-washed and passive. Though I do enjoy nature shows and the learning channel and sometimes a good horror movie. The last movie I saw was SAVING GRACE filmed in Ireland... which was hilarious --- Starring CRAIG FERGUSON - One of the only men who keep me up late at night...MOST RECENT MAGDELENE SISTERS

Television:

" Gie Me A Spark O' Natures Fire - That's A' The Learning I Desire."... Rabbie Burns...BURNS DAY JANUARY 25TH...

WHY DO I DANCE? I DANCE BECAUSE MY CULTURE ELATES ME, LEGENDS CAPTIVATE ME, HISTORIES MOTIVATE ME, I AM ONE WITH THE PAST WHEN I DANCE.
I DANCE BECAUSE THE BAGPIPES STIR ME, WHEEL ME, WHIRL ME, TOSS ME AND HURL ME, I DANCE TO THE DRONE OF THE PIPES.
I DANCE BECAUSE THE DRUMS COMPEL ME, RHYTHMS PROPEL ME, BEATS EXCEL ME, I DANCE TO THE THUNDER OF THE DRUMS.
I DANCE BECAUSE MY SPIRIT LIFTS ME, CARRIES ME, DRIFTS ME, INSPIRES AND GIFTS ME, MY SPIRIT SOARS WHEN I DANCE.

Books:

My favourite store above all is Barnes & Noble book store --- where I spend many hours browsing the shelves and choose only the books that magically "fall of the shelf"...WOMAN WHO RUN WITH THE WOLVES, DAVINCI CODE, ANUM CARA...MARIAH MONK, THE PEOPLES FRIEND, SILENT SPRING

Heroes:

I consider anyone who has the courage and strength to rise above lifes trials and tribulations HEROES...Annie Oakley and Joan Of Arc...HELEN KELLER, RACHEL CARSON, WINSTON CHURCHILL, JACK COUSTEAU...and my big brothers Alastair and Tom and sister Audrey. My Earth Angel & BEST Friend Marian...I reckon everyone is a hero in their own special way.
My whimsical little self likes to imagine my hero as MIGHTY THOR ......."Anyone can slay a dragon, but try waking up every morning and loving the world all over again. That's what takes a real hero."
A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. Christopher Reeve
"I am more interested in what I can create than in what I can consume, in what I can share than in what I can own, in living my own life rather than viewing others on tv or the big screen. I think for myself and choose my own heroes. My goal is to be one of them."
