"Ann Arbor is a college town, The Dardanelles are an Ann Arbor band and their sound is totally college rock. And I mean that in a positive, celebratory way." Keith Dusenberry, Real Detroit Weekly
The Dardanelles potentially existed when S. Ellison and B. Thomas met in a bar. Then there was C. Csont. He said that he played bass and he did. There was another drummer, but he vanished. Then there was another, who drowned. Haley forms auxiliary ranks but must now telecommute from the NYC. She knew S. Ellison beforehand, and met B. Thomas during other people's music. Now there is an accordion, but it doesn't get much play. S. Schaefer has now joined the ranks along with her fishtibuns. There are six of them now and many songs, because of music. There is intonation, dissonance and mellifuousness. There are also a great many allergies--far too many, but some are improving. They play in a basement and sleep in their own lodgings. Individually, most of them have attributes.
C. Csont films things and writes words, which other people speak. He often sleeps. There are bees. He is bass. You do not ask C. Csont to turn down. You ask your ears to work harder.
S. Ellison is referential. He answers things in bars. His role is to sing and to strum and sometimes to cavort. He needs a cigarette and he wrote many songs they sing. He also plays the blender.
J. Ferdon requires sticks. Perhaps there is a moustache. He is for percussion, destruction and creation purposes.
B. Thomas explains dark matter. He makes the songs S. Ellison does not. He plays larynx and some guitars. The accordion is irrelevant.
S. Schaefer tickles fake ivory on occasion, loans cirgarettes and in general is in charge of melodic fullness and bar conversation.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: idontneedtosingbetter.com
Band Members: Brooks Sam Chris Joe Sarah(not in that order)
Influences: This changes on a regular basis, as we listen to a lot of music. But for now we would like to list these guys as they have influenced us most recently: Stephen Malkmus, The Descent of the Holy Ghost Church, Guided By Voices, BamBoon, Yes, King Harvest, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Johannes Kepler.
Sounds Like: Once described as the "Hyperactive love child of Weezer and Pavement". However we prefer to think of ourselves as our own unique sound, the sound of a thundering freight train of good old rock and roll funneled into ears and then straight to the brain for your listening/dancing/freaking out or any other type of pleasure response.
