About Me

'Emma' - Next Single
On 7th July The Satin Peaches will be releasing their next single 'Emma' on 7" vinyl (b/w 'Wash It Away') and as a download on Island Records. 'Emma' is the product of their time in LA with Dave Sardy whose previous work includes Oasis and Wolfmother.
Tomorrow, the Satin Peaches begin their mini-assault on the UK when their play Manchester's Ruby Lounge, rapidly followed by a Club NME night at Koko on the 16th and a slot on the Brighton Great Escape where they play the Ocean Rooms on the 17th. After their successful UK foray last Autumn as part of the NME Freshers tour, the boys are looking forward to getting reacquainted with the UK once again and resuming those friendships made last time round. Keep tabs here on further UK dates in the Summer.
New UK Shows
Fresh from the studio The Satin Peaches will be returning to the UK in May for 3 early summer dates:
15th May – Ruby Lounge, Manchester
16th May – Koko’s Club NME, London
17th May – The Great Escape Festival, Drowned In Sound Stage, Brighton

Late 2007 saw the band head into the studio in LA with producer Dave Sardy to work on several new songs and there will be more news very soon on the fruits of their labour!

"These Detroit-bred cuties are so goddamned good.
" - Lauren Gitlin, Rolling Stone
"There's no way anyone could deny that the first single by these Detroit-raised avant-popsters is a thing of extreme beauty. Ivories are bashed, guitars fuzz in a vaguely garage-rock vein and someone starts to thing through the same over-distorted mic that Julian Casablancas patented five or os years ago. The whole thing builds and builds into something approaching mini-epic status." - NME
"If Operator Please are bouncing across campus with perma-grins, these dudes are in their room packing handfuls of skunk into their bongs while worshipping Pearl Jam rarities..." - Alex Miller, NME
"This Detroit Band have been making waves in their hometown, and rising UK interest suggests a deal could be imminent." - Music Week Magazine (UK)
"These youngsters are set to shake up the citys music scene. I wasn't sure if folks would get it together to mix garage song writing with the danceable back beat of the new post punk movement, but it seems to have happened here. Leave it to the kids... this sh*t is hot!" - The Lager House
"It’s a bit early to start knocking out Next Big Thing predictions, but this lot are definitely worth the pleasure of excited anticipation. Scribble Satin Peaches on a post-it and keep your fingers crossed. Lads, don’t let us down." - Jon Fletcher, New-Noise.net
"Since releasing its debut disc last summer, the Satin Peaches have enjoyed a quick rise on Detroit's rock scene, with a fan base that's growing monthly thanks to the young quartet's live shows and formidable Web presence." - Brian McCollum, Detroit Free Press
" 'They sorta sound like The Kinks.' I hear this a lot when people are telling me about new bands. It is almost always a lie. This time, I found a group that actually sound like The Kinks. The Satin Peaches 'Bluechild Strumpet Machine' sounds like a Jack White-fronted band of Davies. And its excellent." - Keith N. Dusenberry, Real Detroit Weekly
"Look for big things to come from The Satin Peaches... " - Willy Wilson, Real Detroit Weekly
"Intimate but passive at the same time, they’ll welcome you in and break your heart before you know where you are." - Kate Lucey, Gigwise.com
"The Satin Peaches have a bouncy retro sound, partly influenced by The Beatles and other bands from the '60s and '70s.. That comes across in the band's sound, which also draws from bands such as Radiohead and Franz Ferdinand." - Adam Graham, The Detroit News
"But the Satin Peaches set was stopped and the police wouldn't let them continue until all the kids were given their money back." - Goshen Kid, Indiana
"Listen to this cd... or eat shit you hippie smoking lansing fuck.. no no dont say that.. wait let me think of one.." - Chieftan Mews
"Approved by the USDA and Thom Yorke..." - Chieftan Mews
